10 Irish wedding traditions

Ensure your wedding day in Tipperary, Kilkenny, Waterford, Carlow  has plenty of Irish charm by including some Irish wedding traditions that have been around for centuries.

Handfasting

This is where the phrase ‘tying the knot’ originated from. Handfasting is an ancient Celtic tradition where the couple come together at the beginning of their marriage and hold right hand to right hand then left hand to left hand with their wrists crossed over and the handfasting ribbon is wound around their wrists and over their hands.   More Traditions

Kilkenny Wedding Veuue

If you are a Tipperary or Kilkenny Bride to be and are trying to decide on Wedding Reception Venues in Kilkenny, Tipperary, Carlow, Waterford or Cashel, be sure to check out Mount Juliet House, Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny. I had the pleasure of recording a Wedding Video in Mount Juliet recently it is a very impressive Kilkenny wedding venue. http://www.mountjuliet.ie
Weddings at Kendals
Kendal’s wedding venue, with its high-beamed ceilings, has a capacity for up to 160 wedding guests. Weddings can take place year round at Kendal’s where the panoramic views of Mount Juliet golf course and atmospheric setting will make a wedding day truly special.

The champagne reception will take place at Mount Juliet house prior to moving across to Kendals. This allows the couple and their guests to enjoy the luxury of both magnificent wedding venues, the perfect backdrop for a very special  wedding day.

Weddings in Kilkenny are at an altime high and with a huge choice of top class Wedding Reception Venues to choose from, it is no wonder that Weddings are on the up in and around the Marbel City. Wedding videographers in Tipperary are making their way over the border to film more and more Weddings In Kilkenny and Mount Juliet.

Wedding Planning ” The Costs “

Our daughter is getting married next year so I have decided to take an interest in Wedding Planning. No matter how hard you may try to ignore it, a wedding budget is vital in planning for your Wedding Day you need to know how much you can spend and on what. Very often couples go over their budget when they find that Perfect Wedding  Photographer or decide that they absolutely  need that  vintage getaway car because,  it is very classy and special they can’t imagine leaving the church in anything else.  you need to be prepared to stay within a certain budget, these difficult  times have left us all looking for ways to save but  weddings are one area where people are still over spending. So maybe try to have a Wedding that you can afford.

Here are a few tips and feed back from Brides In Tipperary and Munster. The engagement is something to celebrate but no need to go overboard with a big 200 guest party, one small engagement party or dinner is enough. Start saving for the Big Day.

The Bride’s family usually pays for the ceremony and reception and the Groom’s family pays for the honeymoon. Sometimes  couples will find themselves footing the bill. The Brides Family may not be in a position to pay because of these difficult times, so you will have to decide on where the money is coming from.

A Small Wedding or a Big Wedding ?  As a Wedding Videographer In Tipperary and Kilkenny it is plain to see that couples are cutting down on guest numbers. Big Weddings are very expensive and are not as personal as the medium size celebration.  I think that less than 200 guests  makes for a better and more enjoyable day than the 300+ guest list.

Wedding Video and Photographer ? You should budget for €900 to cover your Wedding Videographer and €1200 for a professional Photographer, these prices are possible by just shopping around.
