by Eamon on Jan.01, 2012, under Shows and Musicals
One of the great perks of being a Tipperary Videographer is the huge amount of Shows and Musicals that are performed every year in Tipperary and we get to sit on them free of charge. During 2011 I have recorded Musicals In Tipperary from South to North Tipperary which included Clonmel, Cashel, Fethard, and Tipperary Town. One of my favorite Tipperary Musicals Society’s is Slievenamon Musical Society they are based in Cloneen, Fethard which is tiny but vibrant little village which sits at the foot of Slievenamon in South Tipperary. The following Video Clip is from “CALAMITY JANE which was presented by Slievenamon Musical Society during December 2011.
Martha Jane Cannary Burke (May 1, 1852 – August 1, 1903), better known as Calamity Jane, was an American frontierswoman, and professional scout best known for her claim of being an acquaintance of Wild Bill Hickok, but also for having gained fame fighting Native Americans. She is said to have been a woman who also exhibited kindness and compassion, especially to the sick and needy. This contrast helped to make her a famous and infamous frontier figure.
It was an honor to have been asked to Record this Wonderful Tipperary Musical it was a fantastic production and I am looking forward to working with this Talented Tipperary Musical Society again in 2012. I am booked in to record a School Show in Tipperary Town for the Pupils of the Monastery School which promises to be another huge success in March 2001. it will be performed in Tipperary Exel Simon Ryan Theatre in the hearth of Tipperary Town.

St. Mary’s Choral Society Clonmel proudly presented their 106th production from the 18th November to the 26th November 2011. It was a fantastic production of Lional Bart’s Masterpiece “OLIVER “. The White Memorial Theatre Clonmel was packed every night by a mixture of young and old Patrons from all over Tipperary, Waterford and Kilkenny.
It has been a busy year for Drangan Video, Recording Musicals and Shows in Tipperary, Cashel, Clonmel, Carlow and Kilkenny and of coarse Wedding Videos In Tipperary and Munster are a major part of my workload.
The White Memorial Theatre building is a former a Weslyan/Methodist Chapel. The building was purchased in 1975 by St. Mary’s Choral Society, who put on an average of 2 shows a year in the building. The building also host shows by the Stage Craft Youth Theatre group and special event during the year. I have the pleasure of recording at least Two Musicals in Clonmel for St. Marys Choral Society, I love musicals no matter how many times that i have attended a performance of an individual Musical/Show the buzz is still the same. As a Videographer In Tipperary I get to sit in on quite a few Musical Productions In Tipperary but I must say that St Mary’s never fail to amaze me with their splendid productions. I look forward to working with this wonderful Tipperary Choral Society again in Spring 2012.

The students of Scoil Ruain Killenaule were proud to present their Transition year show on November 10th 2011. This wonderful School Show was titled ” Blast From The Past ”
The Show featured snippets from Famous Musicals and Show Bands of recent years.
The story of Scoil Ruain began in the 1920s when a school was established at Knockavardagh, Killenaule which provided a two year course of “Continuation Education” for the community. The Rosegreen Players
by Eamon on Feb.27, 2011, under Shows and Musicals
The Well of the Saints by John Millington Synge was staged in Rosegreen Community Hall on Thursday 27th, Friday 28th, Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th January 2011 at 8 p.m.
This ‘sad and funny’ play is the least well known of Synge’s major works.Above all, Synge gives strong parts to actors and the part of Martin Doul stands among one of the most challenging in twentieth century theatre. The task of playing this role falls to Tom Delahunty. Marisa Costello brings her gifted playing to the part of his wife, Mary Doul. Jim Purcell plays The Saint, Glen Fahey plays Timmy the Smith, and Irene Maher, his finace, Molly Byrne. Naomi Campbell plays Bride, and Majella Lonergan, a village girl. Mat Simon is played be Finbarr O’Neill and Patch Ruadh by Mark Lonergan.
I have been working with the Rosegreen Players on all their recent productions and it is an honor to be associated with this very professional Tipperary Drama Group.
Looking forward to another wonderfull production in the near future.
Set Theatre Kilkenny
by Eamon on Jan.19, 2011, under Shows and Musicals
Starlight Stage Productions are delighted to present their third annual Pantomime and this year following the success of Beauty and the Beast last year they return to the Set Theatre Kilkenny.
The Starlight group have produced top quality musicals, variety shows, tributes and pantomimes over the last 7 years in not only Kilkenny city, but around the county and also in neighbouring counties Tipperary, Carlow and Laois.
I have been recording for Starlight Stage Productions for more than 3 years now, it is great working with Jason and his team. Their productions are wonderful, it is amazing to see Children as young as 6 performing alongside adult cast members.
The SET Theatre is the latest part of Langtons Hotel. Constructed in 2009 it is a state of the art venue which can hold 270 people seated. Designed by the David Collins Studio in London this is their flagship theatre and have pulled out all the stops to make it the most beautiful and talked about venue in the country. It is ideal for Video Recording, the sound and lighting crew are just so professional, they are always very helpful with the DVD Production sometimes lighting has to be altered to assure a perfect Video Recording.
It is promising to be a very busy year again this year for Starlight Stage Productions, and I am looking forward to Recording Shows for them in Kilkenny, Carlow, and Tipperary.
” ME AND MY GIRL ” Slievenamon Musical Society 2010
by Eamon on Dec.06, 2010, under Shows and Musicals
Production history
It originally opened at the West End Victoria Palace Theatre on December 16, 1937, and starred Lupino Lane. At first attracting little notice, the production gained immediate success after a matinee performance was broadcast live on BBC radio, following the cancellation of a sporting event. On May 1, 1939, a performance was televised from the theatre, one of the first times such was done. The original West End production ran for 1,646 performances.
Congratulations to the members of Slievenamon Musical Society on a truly brilliant production of Me and my Girl. The show was staged in Cloneen Hall situated at the foot of Slievenamon, in Cloneen, Co. Tipperary. Diarmuid Vaughan was the producer, he is an active member of St. mary’s Choral Society, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary. Diarmuid was recently nominated for 3 AIMS awards.
I am delighted to be associated with this wonderful production of Me And my Girl by Slievenamon Musical Society on November 21st 2010, and I am already looking forward to next year’s production.
