Tipperary Couple Mairead and Niall Say Yes In Nenagh Church

Mairead and Niall were married in St. Mary of the Rosary Church Nenagh Co. Tipperary on August 6th 2016, I was delighted to have been their preferred choice of wedding videographer.
It was a fab wedding, full of fun and  excitement with a pinch of romance thrown in for good measure.

The story begins at St. Patrick’s Terrace Nenagh  in Mairead’s parent’s  house,  I arrived at 11:30 AM  the bridal preps were  in full progress  Mairead was enjoying all the special attention from her enthusiastic  ladies in waiting.  I just love the pre wedding  excitement and fun during morning preparations I always like to allocate about an hour or so to recording at the bride’s house.
Siobhan Brady was on duty for make-up  you will be assured the most professional and top quality service when you book a treatment with Siobhan. She is a perfectionist at her job and the quality of her work is second to none. Siobhan has a lovely friendly personality.

Wedding Cake Alternatives And Inspiration For Your Wedding Day.

In this wedding news blog post we are taking a look at one of the most popular and long standing  wedding traditions “The Wedding Cake.”
Love is Sweet
Yum, life really is sweeter when you’re in love, at least that’s what one study suggests. Researchers found that both candy and water taste sweeter when people are in love, so what better way for wedding couples to share their love than sharing a  delicious slice of wedding cake.
A  wedding cake is a focal point of a wedding and usually sits in a prominent point of the function room. The wedding cake is a longstanding tradition dating back to Roman and Medieval times. Back then a stack of buns was used instead of a multi-level culinary masterpiece, but the symbolism was generally the same. Over the centuries there have been many traditions created surrounding the cake and it still remains an important aspect of  weddings in Ireland. As a wedding videographer covering weddings in Tipperary & Kilkenny, I always like to capture  the cutting of the cake on video because it represents the first activity done as a couple.

Whilst the classic tiered, white or ivory cake appears the more traditional choice for weddings in Tipperary, this does not mean that you cannot choose an alternative for your big day. Maybe you’re not a big fan of cake, or you just want to offer your guests something a bit different to sample? Take a look at some of the suggestions below for some alternative wedding cake inspiration for brides in Ireland.

  1. Cupcakes

One of the most popular wedding cake alternatives over the past few years has without a doubt been cupcakes. This versatile desert can be made in a wide range of flavours, from strawberry to chocolate fudge and tiffin to blueberry, meaning you can mix and match to please all of your guests!

Another great feature of using cupcakes is that they can be decorated in a variety of beautiful ways – meaning your nuptial cupcakes can become an additional décor feature of your wedding.

  1. Decorative Doughnuts

Decorative doughnuts are fast becoming a popular choice for brides and grooms. These deep fried treats are a favourite with guests of all ages – and the fact that they come in different flavours, and can be dressed up in your bridal colours, make them ideal for the big day. Serve them with coffee or chocolate dipping sauce and you have got a desert that’s sure to please all your guests.

  1. Ice Cream

Whether you are a vanilla or mint chocolate chip fan, individuals of all ages love ice cream! So, why not set up a make-your-own-sundae bar or an ice cream cone station, where guests can indulge in some refreshing sweet treats. Ice cream is a particularly good desert option for summer weddings.

  1. Dessert Shots

Serving desserts in shot glasses, perhaps chocolate mousse or strawberry cheesecake is a really fun alternative to the traditional wedding cake. Create an arrangement of dessert shots on a decorated table, with three to four varieties.

  1. A Pie Table

Set up a pie table and let your guests enjoy the buffet. Whether you provide apple, banoffee or cherry, pies are a great option for winter weddings in particular. If you are on a tight budget, you could consider asking friends or family members to each bake a different type of pie to bring to the party.

  1. Desert Jars

When you are hosting a more casual, rustic styled wedding, consider serving your deserts in jars. Deserts such as chocolate chip cookies, brownies and fruit crumbles work particularly well.

  1. Mini Deserts

Consider serving a selection of mini deserts as an alternative to wedding cake, on your big day. Offering up a tasty arrangement of small desserts such as mini muffins, bite sized cookies or miniature cheesecake, is a great way to play with tradition.

  1. Made to Order Waffles

Perfect for winter weddings, a made to order waffle station is a fantastic alternative wedding cake option. Set up a waffle station, where guests can choose their own toppings, such as ice cream, whipped cream, syrup, berries, Nutella, or even a little Baileys for the adults.

Its All About Weddings In Kilkenny Laura and Tom Say Yes

Weddings in Kilkenny are at an all time high which is good news for me, I can now safely say that 80% of my wedding videos are shot throughout Kilkenny City and county. In this wedding news blog I’m delighted to be sharing highlights from the wedding Video  of Tom & Laura who were married in Foulkstown Church earlier this year.

As a Tipperary based wedding videographer I am always happy to travel over the boarder to Kilkenny and enjoy some of the fabulous wedding locations that Kilkenny has to offer, one such location is St. Josephs Church Foulkstown.

St Joseph’s Church Foulkstown, is situated on the Waterford Road, a 5min drive from Kilkenny city. The church has an old feel to it the inside of the church is plainly yet tastefully  decorated  but kept in excellent  condition. There is enough seating for  180  wedding guests, it is a very popular choice of wedding ceremony venue for weddings in Kilkenny.

Laura and Tom’s Wedding Video

My day began with a visit to Cederwood Close, in Kilkenny city to capture the fun and excitement of the bridal preps, Ross Costigan was on duty for the wedding photography, he is a very nice guy to work with and his work is amazing.
The weather was looking good just the odd passing shower, Laura’s parents had placed a  Child  Of Prague Statue in the garden to ward off any black rain clouds.
The Infant/Child of Prague is a small wax medieval statue of the  Christ child,  Copies/reproductions of this statue were at one time  found in the majority of Catholic homes around Ireland.  This little statue was called upon for help to ensure good weather for family occasions such as wedding, communions  and confirmations.

Bridal Preps Captured On Video

The bridal preps are the perfect start to a professional wedding video, Laura’s preps were in full swing when I arrived, this video clip captures the fun and emotion of the build up to  her special day. I tend to blend into the background when filming in the brides house which assures a perfectly natural looking wedding DVD.
The couple enjoyed a relaxing wedding ceremony in Foulkstown Church, presided   over by Fr. Dan Carroll who is a well know wedding celebrant in Kilkenny City.

Wedding Photos At Kilkenny City Library Johns Quay

Kilkenny City library is a one-storey Carnegie Library, built in 1910. The building is in a classical style with symmetrical façade.
Johns Quay is a particular favorite of mine for  shooting high quality wedding video footage,  the long-awaited new pedestrian and cycle bridge crossing the River Nore in Kilkenny  named   the ‘Lady Desart Bridge’,  crosses from Bateman Quay to John’s Quay, it is a popular location for wedding video and photo shoots standing on the bridge provides a lovely view of Kilkenny Castle.

Happy Wedding Video In The Valley Of Slievenamon Tipperary

Mullinahone is a small  town situated in the valley of Slievenamon Co. Tipperary otherwise know as the home of Charles J. Kickham ones of Ireland’s best loved  poet and writer.
Over the years in my role as a wedding videographer I get to shoot weddings in many beautiful and exciting parts of Ireland but none so beautiful as my home county Tipperary.
This week I am delighted to be sharing the wedding video highlights from the wedding of Lousie & William who were recently married in St. Michael’s Church Mullinahone !!  “local weddings are best” 🙂

The wedding shoot got off to a lively start with a visit to Louise and the girls as they prepared for the long awaited wedding . Louise’s Mum’s house is situated on the Mullinahone Callan road just a 4min drive from the church which was ideal for me.  When I arrived Karen Maher was attending to all make needs and doing a fantastic job as usual, if you are in the process of wedding planning and looking for a top class make up artist just go ahead and book  Karen Maher
Seamus Costello was in charge of wedding photograpy I have shot lots weddings in Tipperary  with Seamus he a lovely guy to work with.
I was delighted with my coverage of the bridal preps, the video clip features some lovely shots of Louise and her bridesmaids which were discreetly captured on film.

The wedding ceremony was celebrated by F. John McGrath  he is a lovely man  his wedding ceremonies are always personal and  lighthearted, we were out of the church within the hour which allowed extra time for greeting guests and the ever important photoshoot.

Killaghy Castle Mullinahone Tipperary :

Killaghy Castle is situated on the outskirts of Mullinahone, we stopped off there for the weeding photos, I also got  amazing wedding video footage inside the historic house.

The castle has been owned by numerous families over the years. The present owners are Pat and Maria Collins who bought the property in 1995. The family have spent several years renovating the Castle to ensure that it offers tourists a totally relaxing and tranquil break. It was their priority to adopt a sensitive approach to the restoration project, ensuring that the Castle retained its historic feel while providing all modern conveniences. The family currently farm extensively on the estate.

Killaghy Castle is an extremely popular destination for tourists from all over the world.  The family are happy to allow acess to the house and grounds for local weddings in Mullinahone and South Tipperary.

Hotel Kilkenny: Louise & William’s Wedding Reception

Upon entering hotel Kilkenny you immediately feel the wonderfully warm atmosphere that is simply a signature of a Griffin Group property. Your eye is instantly drawn to the wonderful Italian marble floors adorned by larger than life furniture pieces which include a giant purple chair and an ever-elegant pink chaiselong.

Lousie and William enjoyed a wonderful wedding reception in the Skyline Suite, a stunning room which caters for between 220 to 400 people and offers unrivaled spectacular views of Kilkenny’s cityscape.

Weddings In Tipperary :

I really enjoyed working with Louise and William and not forgetting Emma who was more than happy to join in with Mammy & Daddy for their  first dance, it is memories like this that are so special,  just imagine Emma looking back over the wedding video in years to come and reliving dancing with Mam & Dad on their wedding day , Magic Memories 🙂

Hiring A Wedding Videographer :

It was an early  start this morning 6am to be exact, I like to take time out from my busy work load  and get down to sharing wedding news, wedding tips and samples of my work.
I cannot understand why certain  wedding videographers in Tipperary are not sharing their work on their websites, this has been brought to my attention by couples who have been researching wedding videographers online, and were surprised that not all videographers were sharing  recent video samples.

I do hand out a full wedding DVD for viewing  if requested by a couple, but the vast majority of my costumers are  looking at my work on the drangan video website or on  facebook.
As  wedding videographers  we are selling a product and it is vital that samples of recent wedding videos are available on line for viewing.

If you are planning on getting married over the next couple of years, why not contact myself Eamon by email or Facebook I will be happy to film your big day  at a price that is affordable.

Wedding Videography in Tipperary

As a nationwide videography provider, I often get asked if there are any destinations I do not travel to within the country and the answer to that is a simple ‘No’. Whether you are based in the southernmost tip or the northernmost shores I am always happy to provide you with the best service for your wedding day.

In this post I am going to pick one of my most visited wedding locations and talk about the wonderful scenic backdrops available in Tipperary county for your photographs and video shoots.

Videography in Tipperary

As I write this post, the summer weather has well and truly kicked in and brides and grooms nationwide are most likely making last minute plans to order parasols and ice-cream vans for their wedding day. Lets face it, this kind of weather doesn’t come around all that often!

I have recently been honoured to film a wedding in Tipperary, where the sun shone all day and had you closed your eyes you could imagine we were somewhere in the Caribbean. What a day that was!

On this special day the bride and groom were lucky enough to be able to pick and choose from all the wonderful wedding locations Tipperary has to offer.

The Rock of Cashel

The Rock of Cashel is without doubt one of the most well known landmarks in Tipperary and creates a stunning backdrop for a videography shoot. Imagine the shots on a clear blue day with the Rock in the background and you and your new spouse dressed in all your finery. If you are getting married in Tipperary this summer and are blessed with weather that is suitable for an outdoor shoot, you should definitely make the Rock of Cashel your very first choice.

Cahir Castle

Situated right on the River Suir, Cahir Castle is one of my favourite wedding video locations in Tipperary County. This unique backdrop creates a wealth of opportunities for videographers and photographers and offers a unique experience that you will both remember for the rest of your married life. As one of the oldest castles in Ireland the location will add a somewhat ‘royal’ tone to your wedding video.

Holy Cross Abbey

For any of you who already have the Rock of Cashel on your list of locations, it may well be worth stopping at Holy Cross Abbey on the way to or from there. Holy Cross is situated just 12km from the Rock and is also on the banks of the Suir. This early Cistercian monastery is always a successful location for a unique video shoot. Take the time to look at some photos of the landmark online and you will see that the Abbey offers some great architectural features for videographers and photographers to take advantage of, decorated archways, impressive grounds and a fabulous backdrop for any bride and groom.

If you are planning on hiring a wedding videographer in the Tipperary area this year or next, I would love to hear from you.
