Why hire a wedding videographer in Kilkenny?

You may be undecided at the moment as to whether you would like to hire the services of a professional videographer and that is only natural as costs mount up quite fast. We fully realise that planning a wedding can be a costly experience and know that brides and grooms across the country are looking to make savings where possible. However, we do also meet with a lot of Brides and Grooms who speak longingly about their big day and the regret they have at not capturing every moment to relive in the months and years that follow.

When you hire a videographer, you do so to capture the most important moments of your wedding day. The day goes by so fast and couples rarely get to see everything that goes on around them. With an expertly and discretely shot wedding video, you can take the time to sit down at a later date and relive your big day from a different viewpoint.

Frequently asked questions:

We find that by asking the right questions, you can make an informed decision on whether a wedding video is right for you.

Can I just get a friend to video the wedding on a phone or small device?
As a result of speaking with many brides and grooms up and down the country, we can certainly say that whilst your friend may have all the best intentions, an amateur video will in no way capture all of the ambience and special moments of your big day.

Why should I hire Drangan Video for my Kilkenny Wedding?
Here at Drangan Video we are very familiar with the best locations throughout the county and can therefore recommend the best settings not just for video but also for photography shoots. We will always act with discretion and will in no way disrupt the natural flow of your big day. Our equipment is state of the art and we are extremely professional to deal with.

Will a videographer annoy my guests?

An amateur videographer may very well interrupt or annoy your guests, however, here at Drangan Video we act with the utmost discretion to film moments that may otherwise be left uncaptured. Your guests wont even know we are in the same room!

Can you film at both the ceremony venue and the reception?
Yes certainly, Drangan can offer you an all inclusive package to film at the locations of your choosing such as, the exchanging of vows, in your home during the morning preparations and of course the all important first dance. You simply let us know what you want and we’ll make sure your wedding video is an outstanding success.

Writing Your Own Wedding Blog

Weddings are a huge industry, and this applies to the bloggersphere too. There are so many wedding blogs online now (87,200,000 according to Google), so how do you make your wedding blog stand out from the crowd? We’ve put together a list of tips on how to make and sustain a great wedding blog. Whether you are blogging as a diarist in the lead up to your wedding or looking to start your own blog based solely on weddings, we think you’ll find this blog post useful.

Study Up
Take inspiration. While you’re planning what kind of blog you’re going to launch, make sure you do your research and check out the competition. This is important for a few reasons: you will need to be familiar with the market you’re entering into – and who you will be competing with when trying to win readership. As you are researching these popular blogs you will need to consider: what is it that you like about them? Is it the content that you find there, or maybe it’s the way the blog looks? Making notes of these points will certainly help you identify the qualities you want to reflect in your own blog.

Find your voice
Weddings are a really personal thing and it is vitally important that your blog reflects and embraces this. The Internet is flooded with wedding blogs, many of which are not so great, so it is important that you identify what unique insight you can bring to this field. Talk to other people about the ambitions you have for your writing. These could be friends and relatives, or clients you’ve worked with if you’re an industry professional. They will be able to identify your strengths clearly and should give you the motivation needed to really get your teeth into your new wedding blog.

Show your Passion
The most engaging thing for readers of a blog is the enthusiasm their writer feels for the subject. Of course there might be some must-cover topics for the blog you’re producing, but try to find something that enthuses you about them. The passion you feel will show in your writing, and this will help engage and grow your audience as well as make the process of running your blog a lot more enjoyable for you personally. Making a note of the kind of topics you would really love to read will help you identify the subjects that are close to your heart and therefore easier to write about.

Stand out from the Crowd
It is always important to make sure your blog has an appealing look in order to catch the eye of potential readers and marketers. By paying particular attention to the visual aspect of your blog, you will be ensuring that more people stick around long enough to soak up all the great posts you’ve been crafting. Make sure you pair your look carefully with the tone and focus you’ve chosen so that the design and content make for a cohesive reader experience.

Stay True to your Vision
Every few months, it’s important to sit back and review your blog. Is it still serving it’s purpose? Does it look good? Have you gained a strong readership? Ask yourself what you could be doing better and then do it.
If, like many modern brides, you are writing your wedding blog as part of the planning and build-up to your big day, make sure you keep your readers updated afterwards too.

Here at Drangan Video we love to blog and find that many Irish brides and grooms are now also taking up the hobby. What a great way to express yourself, give advice, make new friends and in some cases start a brand new career!

What to Expect in 2017 – Wedding Trends, Colour Palettes and More

Hard to believe we are talking about 2017 wedding trends already, it seems like only yesterday that I was writing a similar article about 2016! As always when we start into January, we start looking ahead to our Spring and Summer bookings and this year is no different.

Are you getting married in 2017 or 2018? Would you like to explore some of the trends that are popular at the moment and see if they may be right for you? In this blog post I am going to briefly cover some trends that appear to be most popularly forecasted for 2017 and will go on to cover them in more detail in later post. If there are any trends you would like to know more about, please feel free to let us know and we will make sure to address them in 2017.

Paper, Paper, Everywhere!

It seems that our love for technology has not diminished our love for the more traditional things in life, and for that I am most grateful. This coming 2017 wedding season sees paper take centre stage once more, and we’re not just talking about your wedding stationery here! 2017 looks to put paper the forefront of wedding décor, everything from centrepieces to bouquets can all be crafted from craft paper, tissue and recycled materials. This is a trend we are delighted to see, and remember it can all be recycled so there’s no waste and let’s face it, paper is so very easy to source in a variety of finishes, weights and designs.

First Look Photographs and Videos

Whilst it does go against the tradition of not seeing the bride before the wedding, first look photo’s and videos are becoming increasingly popular amongst Irish couples. That wonderful moment when you first clap eyes on each other before your wedding can be one of the most beautiful and emotional images you can take on your wedding day. For more information on first look photography and videography, see our recent blog post, which explains all you need to know.

Wedding Apps

This year has seen the removal of the disposable camera from tables up and down the country. This tradition had lasted even longer than we anticipated considering everyone has their own camera in their pocket these days. However, we are now seeing an upsurge in wedding apps, which allow your guests to take photos on their phone and upload them to your very own wedding album. Check out our favourite wedding app wedpics to see how you can involve your wedding guests in making your day all that more special.

Rose Gold, Ruffles and Romance

2017 sees the return of romantic colours such as peach, dusky rose, rose gold and rich cream to the wedding palette. We absolutely love these colours and they look exceptionally well in photos and video on the big day. We also see more romantic trends returning such as ruffles, lace, corsages and headpieces of feather and pearl.

Over the coming months we will be further exploring 2017 wedding trends and we would absolutely love to hear from any of our potential brides and grooms with any tips they might have.

Amazing Tipperary Wedding Singer Video Show-Reel

It is amazing how those first few notes of a song or a pice of music can take you back to a certain time in your life resulting in a lump in the throat or a tear in your eye. This is why the choice of music and the vocalist for your wedding ceremony is so important.
Andrea Ruth-Houlihan is now the  first choice of wedding singer for weddings in Tipperary, Kilkenny and many other counties, I am delighted to be sharing her latest promotional show reel video which was recorder and produced by Drangan Video.

Your wedding day will be filled with many happy memories and emotions, the ceremony itself is a very emotional part of the day, walking up the aisle to meet your new husband to be, those shaky hands while lighting the marriage candles, singing the register and finally walking down the aisle as Mr and Mrs. These are very special and memorable moments, one way of making them more special and memorable is your choice of wedding singer and music.

Andrea Ruth – Houlihan  Professional  Wedding Singer.
Andrea is based in Clonmel Co. Tipperary she is  much sough after  for weddings in Tipperary, Kilkenny, Limerick and Waterford she is also happy to accept bookings from any county, distance is not a problem. My association with Andrea stretches back more than a decade, she has played leading parts in many musicals and shows staged by  St. Mary’s Choral Socitey Clonmel, I had the pleasure  of been the official videographer for those productions over the last 10 years.

I rember my first time hearing Andrea singing at a wedding in Clonmel, it was obvious that she was a step above the opposition, what an incredible voice.  Andrea is now one of best known wedding singers in Ireland. She is always so elegant and stylist looking she looks and sounds like a true professional wedding  supplier.

Andrea’s promo video is attracting great attention on Youtube and now on my Drangan Video wedding blog page. The video was shot and recorded in St. Mary’s Church irishtown Clonmel by  myself Eamon, editing and post production was carried out by Eamon and Andrea, we are both very proud of the final result.
