Are you proposing this Christmas ?

Are you hoping to pop the question over the festive period? Feeling a little nervous, excited and anxious? You have absolutely nothing to worry about! Proposing to the person you love will be an amazing experience and one you and your partner will remember for the rest of your lives. If you and your partner are not big on grand gestures or uncomfortable with elaborate set-ups, do things your own way. Every proposal should be different and unique to the couple involved, there’s no need to plot some elaborate scheme when a simple ‘will you marry me’ is often the most perfect thing you can do.

For those of you who are looking for some proposal ideas, we have listed some below that may help to inspire your own unique proposal.

1. The Advent Calendar
Make an advent calendar for the love of your life; use a simple booklet or a series of gifts or notes each day for your partner to open. If you opt for daily small gifts, you can simply pop the ring into the date of your choosing, if you want them to read a special note every day, you can write your special question for the date of your choice. A wonderful surprise for that someone special in your life.

2. Hang it on the Tree
Yes, as simple as it sounds, this little idea is one of our favourites. Simply wrap the ring box in some beautiful packaging or cover it in gold or silver foil and hide it in amongst the other decorations on the tree. On the day of the proposal you can ask your partner where that decoration came from and ask them to take a closer look!

3. Christmas Morning with the Kids
If you have children, there’s nothing better than getting them involved in Mammy and Daddy’s happy day. Ask the kids to present your partner with the ring, all wrapped up with the other presents under the tree. This will be a moment that you can all remember together for the rest of your lives.

4. Christmas Dinner Proposal
If you’d like to propose on Christmas Day, try to incorporate the proposal in with your family meal. Consider hiding the ring in your partner’s dessert (make sure it’s not too well hidden, you want them to see it and not eat it!) or using the ring as a napkin holder on their place setting.

Whatever way you choose to propose to that someone special in your life, you can be assured that it’s always the question that matters most. Whether you plan it well in advance or simply pop the question at a time that feels right, hearing ‘I do’ will be all that’s needed to make your proposal a success.

For all you budding fiancés out there, we wish you nothing but happiness and our heartiest congratulations for the years ahead

Are you ready for your Christmas Wedding?

It’s that time of the year again when we are looking forward to working with our Christmas brides and grooms. Over the last decade we have seen a huge upsurge in couples tying the knot over the festive period and it’s become something of a tradition for us to dedicate a blog post to these seasonal ceremonies.

Christmas Weddings In Tipperary

Whether you’re opting for a church wedding, a civil ceremony or an alternative occasion to celebrate your love, there’s one thing that’s certain and that is you can never be fully prepared for all that December has to offer. As I write this blog post the sun is shining as strongly as it would in August, however there’s a chill in the air that tells us we need to wrap up extra warm before we go to film this weeks wedding videos. December is a month for all seasons, you may get sunshine, you may even get snow but you need to be prepared for all eventualities.

For those of you who are tying the knot this December and New Year, here’s a handy little checklist that will help you prepare for any last minute weather changes.

• Stock up on umbrellas – You can never have too many spare umbrellas available on your big day. Ask the best man and any willing family members to collect as many umbrellas as they can from family and friends and have them ready in the boot of a car for those who have come to the ceremony unprepared.
• Allow for extra travel time – While you may be only a ten-minute drive from the ceremony location, it’s important that you allow yourself double the travel time at least to ensure there are no lengthy delays. December weather in Ireland can bring icy roads, high winds and spot flooding so you’ll want to ensure you and your guests get to the venue without any problems.
• Keep warm – Speak to your venue about extra heating for any outdoor areas and perhaps provide some wraps, blankets and warm throws for your guests who may venture outside for a cigarette or a breath of fresh air.
• Welcome drinks – December is the perfect time of year for mulled wine, hot cider, Irish coffees and hot whiskey. Why not treat your guests to a warming drink upon arrival at your reception venue to get them in the holiday spirit.
• Provide transport – Travelling in adverse weather conditions can be a daunting task for many drivers and it may be a deciding factor on whether they can make it to your wedding ceremony. Consider hiring a mini-bus to collect and drop guests along a pre-agreed route to your venue and on to the reception if they’re in different locations. This will allow your guests to relax and enjoy the celebrations without having to worry about how they’ll get home later.

Most of the events listed above are venue open-days, where you and your partner can see the venue in all its glory. Typically these venues will be set up to give you an idea of how their rooms look like when decorated for a traditional wedding. The venues will be able to provide you with per head prices, give you an idea of availability and answer any questions you have on the day. This is particularly useful for budding brides and grooms who are yet to settle on a budget for their wedding day and will help you to put in place a financial plan.

Pop back to our blog in late January to read about new dates that have been added to the calendar from February onwards.

If you are looking for a videographer to film your wedding day, the team here at Drangan Video would love to hear from you. We travel anywhere in the country at no extra cost to you and offer affordable wedding video packages, drone footage and superb customer service
