My new year got off to a flying start with a local wedding in Ballyneale Co. Tipperary, it was the final wedding from a group of back to back wedding bookings covering Waterford, Kilkenny, Tipperary and Carlow. Ciara & Philip were lucky with the weather the day was dry but a bit on the cold side, they were a lovely warm friendly couple to work with making my job as wedding videographer enjoyable and easy.
Ciara and Philip went for the Diamond Package which covers the full day from bridal preps and continuing up to 11pm that evening, it is the package of choice by Brides in Tipperary, Kilkenny, Waterford and Carlow.
The wedding got to a lively start, beginning with bridal preps at Ciara’s parents house. Ballyneale is situated between Grangemockler and the famous town of Carrick-On-Suir.
Since starting out as Tipperary based wedding videographer I have had the pleasure of recording numerous wedding videos in and around the historic town and country side of Carrick-on-Suir.
Mahon Falls: A breath taking wedding video/photo venue;
Mahon falls is a must see for all visitors to the area. This area provides breathtaking sights in the most tranquil of settings. As well as the magnificent waterfall visitors are also treated to an experience which can only be described as magical, which is described below. This drive from Carrick-on-Suir offers some sensational views of the mountains, and the many high viewing points on the way provide excellent panoramas over the green countryside below.
The Old Bridge : A wonderful historic back drop for a wedding video
The Old Bridge is situated at the end of Bridge Street, off the Main Street. This seven arched bridge dates back to the mid 15th. Century. It predates the voyage of Columbus to the New World. Originally built in c.1447 by Edmund MacRichard Butler it was for centuries the first bridge above the estuary and hence strategically important as a link between south Leinster and east Munster
Ormond Castle Carrick-on-Suir : A superd location for wedding video shoots
This castle of the Butlers – Earls and later Dukes of Ormond – stands above the Suir on the east side of Carrick. It was acquired in 1315, though the oldest part of the castle is a mid-fifteenth-century walled bawn with a tower house in each of its northern corners.
Enough about history and back to Ciara and Philip, their wedding ceremony was celebrated by Fr. Pat Gere who happens to my favorite wedding day celebrant, his wedding ceremonies are fun and spiritual and he makes Bride & Groom and guests feel relaxed. After the wedding ceremony we made our way to Kilkenny stopping off in Callan for photos.
The Edmond Rice Heritage Centre Callan: is a magical place for capturing stunning wedding video footage.
The thatched house at “Westcourt”, Callan, Co. Kilkenny in which Edmund was born on 1 June 1762, is almost 300 years old. The six roomed house consists of a kitchen, parlour, breakfast room and three bedrooms. Of particular interest is the bedroom in which Edmund Rice was born.
Ciara & Philip’s wedding video features stunning shots of a relaxed if not slightly cold bridal party strolling around the grounds at Wescourt through the shadows January sunshine.
Our final destination was the the Kilkenny River Court Hotel With its unique backdrop overlooking Kilkenny Castle on the banks of the River Nore it is one of the finest wedding hotels in Ireland.
As a wedding videographer I have covered all types of weddings in the River Court, From small traditional celebrations, civil ceremonies, civil partnerships to lavish wedding celebrations.
On arrival Ciara & Philip enjoyed a warm welcome for their guests who were well settled in and enjoying some the River Court’s finest cuisine and beverages.
In my role as wedding videographer the arrival at the reception venue is one of the highlights of my day, its time to break the long fast with a cup of coffee and some tasty bites.
Then it was back to work capturing details of the decor in the function room, guests chatting and mingling.
The speeches were conducted after the meal which I discreetly recorded from a good distance away from the top table.
All my video packages include Vox Pops-messages from guests which are done when the band are setting up, it is great fun and very personal.
Ciara & Philip enjoyed a wonderful wedding reception, bridal party family and friends danced the night away, this was also discreetly captured on the wedding film.
