Leave the work to us and we will make sure we capture every moment of your big day in all its natural glory!

Documentary Wedding Videographer  Kilkenny
What is documentary style wedding videography?

Documentary style is best described as ‘natural’ videography. There are no posed shots, no direction from the videography team, and no interruptions to your big day. We simply become invisible to you and your guests and capture the moments of your celebration in a very natural way. Discreet, documentary style videography tells the story of your day exactly how it happened!

Benefits of discreet, non-directed wedding videography

There are many benefits to this style of wedding videography, these include but are not limited to:

• Total discretion – we never interfere in proceedings and make sure that our presence is almost unnoticeable to your guests.
• No posed shots – this means we will never take you away from the natural flow of the day. We hang back and take the natural footage that presents itself during this important day.
• No direction from our team – you won’t hear any of the Drangan team giving directions to the bridal party or guests. They won’t even know we’re in the room!
• We let you tell your story to the camera – we blend into the background and capture the story of your day as it unfolds naturally.
• Authenticity – Our documentary style and discreet presence adds to the authenticity of your wedding video. When the guests are unaware of our presence, they become relaxed and act naturally in front of our discreetly positioned cameras.
• Emotions captured as they happen – real emotions, un-staged smiles and a true reflection of how you and your guests are feeling throughout the day.
• More focus on the little things – sometimes the little things can make all the difference to your big day. We pick up on the moments that can sometimes go unnoticed, interactions between relatives who haven’t seen each other in a while, a smile from the corner of the room, a child sleeping in the corner – it’s these little moments that make our style so special.
• Less intrusive than traditional videography – our discreet, hands-off approach to capturing the moments in your day mean there is no intrusion to the celebrations.

Recent Wedding Videos in Kilkenny

In this blog post we would like to introduce you to two venues in Kilkenny, in which we recently had the pleasure of providing wedding videography services. For those of you who are actively looking for the perfect wedding venue, we can thoroughly recommend these locations!

Both venues hosted our brides and grooms for the ceremony, meal and reception and left no stone unturned when it came to providing a service that was absolutely superb.

The Newpark Hotel, Kilkenny

The luxurious 4* Newpark Hotel is situated on the outskirts of Kilkenny City on over 30 acres of scenic parkland. Their award winning gardens are the perfect backdrop for any occasion, but really add something special to a wedding ceremony or reception. When it came to shooting our wedding video, the staff couldn’t be more accommodating and went out of their way to ensure there was ample opportunity and space for us to work our magic. The hotel offers a choice of suites and can cater for weddings of all sizes up to 320 seated guests. The main ballroom has it’s own private garden which is ideal for weddings in the mid-summer and works perfectly for those who wish to extend the celebrations to the outdoors.

On our last visit to the Newpark Hotel, our bride and groom could not have been happier with the level of service they received from the venue and we can certainly echo that sentiment.

Whether you require a venue for a reception only or wish to host your ceremony and celebrations all in one place, the Newpark Hotel is without doubt a dream venue.

Newpark Hotel Kilkenny
Mount Juliet Estate, Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny

Just a short 20 minute drive from Kilkenny City, Mount Juliet Estate is probably one of the best-known names in hospitality in Ireland. For a luxury wedding with a difference, Mount Juliet is quiet often the number one choice for our fabulous brides and grooms.

Mount Juliet caters for wedding receptions, civil ceremonies and civil partnerships and is without doubt one of the most luxurious wedding venues in the country. On our last visit to Mount Juliet, our bride and groom had booked the Manor House in which to host their ceremony and celebrations. This venue provided us with the most perfect backdrop for filming their wedding video and meant that the couple and their guests had the exclusive use of the venue. What more could you ask for?

• Indoor and outdoor ceremonies catered for.
• Exclusive Manor House hire.
• 1,500 acres of parkland for you and your guests to explore.
• Two unique venues to choose from.
• Michelin star dining experience.

Recent Weddings in County Tipperary

Here at Drangan Video, we have had the pleasure of filming some of the most spectacular weddings recently in County Tipperary. In this blog post we are going to speak about the two venues we visited and give you a flavour of what you can expect if you decide to book your wedding in one of these wonderful venues.

Wedding Videography Tipperary
Ashley Park House, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary

Our first trip was to the amazing Ashley Park House, a luxury wedding venue located in Nenagh, Co. Tipperary. This incredible 18th century country house hotel is nestled in 76 acres of breath-taking woodland and overlooks the scenic Lough Ourna.

The bride and groom chose this venue for it’s opulence and natural surroundings and we have to say we were absolutely blown away by the location. The event organisation staff left no stone unturned when it came to organising the perfect day!

On this occasion, the bride and groom opted for a civil ceremony on the grounds of the hotel, and this offered some fantastic opportunities for a wedding video with a difference.

When we first met with our bride and groom in 2017, we spoke to the couple about our documentary style approach to wedding videography. We specialise in discreet filming, meaning we don’t set up posed scenes or disturb the natural flow of the big day in any way. They were delighted with our professional approach and put their trust in us to deliver a wedding video that would capture the most important moments of their big day (and everything in between).

For any couples out there who may be considering The Ashley Park House for their wedding venue, we can wholeheartedly recommend it! We’ve been in this business for well over a decade and rarely come across a venue that is so professional, well organised, welcoming and luxurious.

Coolbawn Quay, Tipperary

Coolbawn Quay is a private village resort situated in northern Tipperary on the shores of Lough Derg. This unique venue offers cottages, rooms and suites scattered throughout the village with a hotel service provided for each guest.

We provided a full wedding video service for our wonderful bride and groom and have to admit we were mesmerised by the location, service and the natural layout of the village. The resulting wedding video captured all aspects of the big day and we made sure to include some of the wonderfully scenic backdrops in the resort to add that something special.

The bride and groom exchanged their vows in a civil ceremony at the waterfront under the lakeshore canopy and were blessed to have incredible weather, which further enhanced the happiness on the day.

For any budding brides and grooms out there who may be considering Coolbawn Quay as a venue for their wedding ceremony or reception, we would urge you to make that booking fast as we’d imagine this place gets booked up fast!

Naming the Tables at your Wedding

Over the past decade, the team here at Drangan Video have provided wedding video services to hundreds of brides and grooms across Ireland. We get to see the new trends in décor, watch some of the most amazing first dances and experience first hand the artistic ingenuity of our wonderful couples. In this article we’re going to talk about a growing trend that we think you can really have some fun with.

Wedding Videographer Tipperary

Gone are the days of simply numbering the tables at your wedding venue, more and more we are starting to see a strong trend towards naming tables… and we absolutely love it!

Think about the places, songs or movies that really hold a special place in your heart and then let your ideas flow as you begin to name your tables.

Destinations that are close to your heart:

Think of places that are special to you and your partner. Perhaps you met in a café in Dublin or holidayed in Paris, maybe your fiancé proposed to you in Rome? Tell your story through the cities and countries that shaped your relationship to date by naming your tables accordingly and perhaps providing a few lines about why this place is so special for you.

Important dates in your lives:

From the date you met to the date you became engaged and every date in between, let your guests share in your memories by naming each table after a special time in your life so far.

Movies that make you smile:

For the movie lovers out there, this is a really fun way to share your favourites with your family and friends. Whether you’re a lover of rom-coms or horror movies, this light-hearted way to name your tables will be a real icebreaker with your guests. Perhaps include some trivia about each movie to get your guests talking at the table?

Songs that make you tap your feet:

A song can trigger a thousand memories and never more so than when in the company of the people you love. Name your tables after songs that are going to appear in your set list a little later on or tunes that tell a story about your relationship.

A book lover’s paradise:

Perhaps you and your intended are real bookworms and want to share your favourite reads with your guests? Design table name cards that mimic book covers with quotes from the happy couple in the place of critic quotes. If you are a fan of a certain book series (think Harry Potter) you should have enough books to name every table!

Quotes with meaning:

Borrow the words of your heroes by using famous quotes to name your tables. Whether you opt for witty and humorous or topical and formal is totally up to you.

The places you love to visit together:

Whether it’s your Saturday trip to the local market, a restaurant you love to eat in or your local bar, name your tables after the places you feel most comfortable.

Work with nature:

Name your tables after your favourite flowers or herbs and use this opportunity to add to your table décor. A bunch of thyme at one table, a peony at another, the room will be smelling and looking wonderful!

Have some fun with naming the tables at your wedding and get your friends and family involved to come up with some more unique ideas!

Happy Wedding Day Memories In Mount Juliet

I am delighted and proud to be sharing the following wedding highlights video in this week’s blog post.
Tipperary Bride Anita and Kilkenny Groom David were married in Grangemockler church followed by a lavish reception in  Mount Juliet.

My day began with a visit to the Meagher homestead in Ninemilehouse   historically called Killcullen the small  Tipperary village  lies  on the border with  Kilkenny  as you pass through the  foothills of Slievenamon.
Anta’s house and farm overlooks the village from and elevated vantage point it was a beautiful setting for the beginning of what was a fab wedding day. It was a pleasure once again to be  working with Tanya of Eden Photography she is a much sought after wedding photographer throughout Kilkenny and Tipperary, we had great fun shooting the wedding preparations Anita was surrounded by her very attentive sisters who were prepared to spoil her with kindness for the day that’s  in it.

Tipperary Bride Mount Juliet
The Church

Grangemockler is a village in southeast  Tipperary,  is the home of the Grangemockler/Ballyneale GAA Club, the small church  is situated in the centre of the village, its a nice wedding ceremony venue just the right size for an average guest list of 200.
David and his groomsmen arrived in ample time to meet and greet their guests who were in no hurry  to move in from the beautiful August sunshine. The sound of car horns marked the arrival of the bridal party closely followed by Anita and her Dad Tony, any lingering guests quickly made the way into the already packed church.
Anita was a really cool Bride not a panic bone in her body, David was slightly nervous as he stood at the top of the aisle holding their little  daughter Aine, the emotion of that moment is nicely captured on Camera.

The Wedding Reception

Mount Juliet is  walled estate situated in Thomastown Kilkenny, it has some 1,500 acres of parkland providing a perfect location for a romantic wedding day celebration.
Driving through the gates of Mount Juliet and moving through the estate I noticed  golfers on perfectly manicured   greens, riders on handsome horses,  the Georgian mansion overlooking the River Nore came into view it was a sight to behold.
Anita and David enjoyed a warm recepton from friends and family , it was the perfect setting for capturing some amazing camera footage.

Happy Wedding Day Memories

A big thank you to David & Anita for choosing Drangan Video and for allowing their highlights clip to be shared on this blog post and on facebook.
The video features lovely sound bites from the David’s speech which is quite emotional.
