This is a highlights video clip from Audrey and Cathal’s wedding in Castlecomer Kilkenny, I have been meaning to include this video in my blog posts for a while, so here it goes just sit back and enjoy this smashing video clip.
I arrived at the church early about two hours before the wedding ceremony, and after setting my main Camera and microphones in the church, I quickly made my way to Audrey’s house to capture the bridal preps. John Delaney was already there when I arrived, he is a well known wedding photographer in Kilkenny, he is a great guy to work with not only is he a talented photographer but he also brings a great sense of fun to a wedding shoot, we have worked together on numerous weddings in Kilkenny & Tipperary during 2014.
The girls were enjoying the wedding preps which were in full swing, the Bridesmaids were busy fussing over the brides every need, Audrey was not complaining about the extra attention she was happy to be spoiled on her big day. I was lucky to capture a lovely shot of Audrey as she walked down the stairs to be greeted by her slightly anxious proud Dad who was waiting patiently with a tear in his eye.
September 19th started out on a wet note but thankfully when Audrey & Cathal emerged from the church as Mr & Mrs O’ Dowd the rain had vanished, there is a nice shot in the video of the happy couple punching the air as they made their way to the awaiting BMW which was ready to whisk them off to Kilkenny Golf Clud for a photo under a huge historic tree which stands tall just inside the entrance gates, we got some great romantic video footage as Audrey & Cathal enjoyed a gentle stroll unaware of the my video camera.
Our next stop was at Butler House on Patrick Street Kilkenny, it is well established as a civil ceremony wedding venue, the beautulful gardens are always perfectly manicured it is a wedding videographers paradise, a dream setting for capturing beautiful footage. The gardens are overlooked by Kilkenny Castle which of coarse provides an interesting back drop. Audrey & Cathal were joined by the wedding party for the photo session which thanks to John Delaney’s professionalism was all done with in 30 mins, I was more than happy with my own video footage which captured the fun mood of a very happy wedding group who were up for anything without need for direction from John Delaney or myself.
The kilkenny Ormonde Hotel was our final stop, situated on Ormonde Street just down from the historic castle. I really like the The Kings Ballroom which now has a new refreshing look, it is an ideal function room if you are looking fro a wedding venue in Kilkenny. The Balroom is completely self contained with its own bar and smoking area, an ideal venue choice for Weddings in Kilkenny and Tipperary. Audey & Cathal decided to conduct the speeches before the meal, the hotel management were happy to go along with the idea of getting the formalities out the way before the meal.
I would like to finish my blog post by wishing Audrey and Cathal all the very best in the future, and a big thanks for crossing the border and choosing a Tipperary Wedding videographer which was the centre of some friendly hurling related banter through out the day. They were a smashing couple to work with, totally laid back and easygoing, they are very happy with their wedding DVD and have passed my name on to many of their friends who are getting married in Kilkenny during 2015/2016.
