Here at Drangan Video we take great pride in sharing our latest Tipperary & Kilkenny wedding videos on Facebook, Instagram and our weekly wedding blog, thanks to Mary & Seán for allowing us to share their amazing wedding video in this weeks wedding blog news.
We have been living through strange times since the beginning of March so many industries in Ireland have been closed due to Covid restrictions, the wedding industry ground to a halt on March 13th so many couples having to postpone their wedding until later this year or next year. Now here we are four Months later with the future looking positive for a return to weddings very soon in Tipperary & Kilkenny
Mary and Seán’s Wedding Video Story
Mary & Seán tied the knot on October 26th 2019 it was a fab fun filled wedding day they were a lovely couple to work with, both so laid back and easygoing.
During the Irish Famine the Warhouse in Ballingarry Tipperary was the location of the 1848 Rebellion. The house shows the history of the Irish Famine, as I drove by the war house on my way to Mary’s bridal preps my thoughts were of how lucky I am to be heading off to a carefree happy event.
On arrival I captured nice aerial drone shots of the hills of Ballingarry it was a very cold crisp morning, I was glad to get indoors the sounds of laughter chat and excitement coming from the house was heartwarming. I’ve been shooting weddings in Tipperary and Kilkenny for over 25 years, all the experience has been invaluable, the morning preps are a mood barometer as to what kind of wedding we will have. The barometer reading was high for this one, the girls had their hair/makeup done in Mary’s brother’s house then they set off on foot to Mary’s parents house a 4 minute walk down a winding country road a great opportunity for fun video shots.

Weddings In Holycross Abbey
Mary & Seán’s choice of wedding ceremony location was the beautifully restored Holycross Abbey in Tipperary its also a popular tourist attraction where visitors can ring the oldest church bell in Ireland it is more 750 years old. Holy Cross Abbey is the number one choice for weddings ceremonies in Tipperary.
Seán is a proud Holycross man he is well know in Tipperary GAA circles as a club hurler and county supporter, the boys arrived early in good time to greet their guests as they made their way into the much needed warmth of the church.
The aisle in the Holycross Abbey is quite a long walk in heels it was no problem for Mary, she was in good hands as she made her way up with her brother Pat who handed her over to Seán in an emotional exchange. The ceremony was conducted by Fr. Derry Quirke from Ballingarry he added a personal touch to the ceremony by mentioning Mary’s late dad who would have been so proud to see his daughter saying yes to the love of her life Seán Comerford.
After the ceremony it was time that familiar joyful walk down the aisle followed by a lengthy guest receiving line at the church door. Guests were not for hanging around for very long, the late October weather was a chilly a reminder that summer days or becoming a memory. It was a pleasure working with the wonderful Katie Kavanagh for the photos her work is fun, candid and laid back, she did the bridal party photos around Holy Cross before heading off to the hotel.

Weddings In The County Arms Birr
Birr is one of Ireland’s best heritage towns It’s most famous landmark, the Castle Gardens & Science Center attracts large numbers of tourists annually, The Great Telescope is my personal favorite must see attraction.
The County Arms Hotel was founded by Michael & Margaret Loughnane in 1962 it is Offaly’s first four star Hotel.
The walled Garden is a wedding videographer’s dream for capturing romantic footage as couples take time out for a quite stroll through the perfectly manicured gardens and yet only a few yards from their wedding guests.
The County Arms is a popular wedding reception location for Tipperary & Kilkenny couples.
It was an honor to have been Mary & Seán’s videographer I’m so proud to be sharing their wedding film is this week’s blog news story.
