The 2014 wedding season kicked off early in January for Drangan Video with a number of local weddings in and around Tipperary, this fearured video clip is from
the wedding of Aoife & Colin who were married in St. Molleran’s Church Carrickbeg, Tipperary. January 3rd 2014 was a cold but sunny day with the usual spattering of heavy showers, this video clip highlights all the sunny moments from what a lovely wedding in Tipperary.
I arrived at Aoife’s parents house in Carrickbeg at 11am and at that stage wedding preps were in full swing there was a great buzz and excitement was kicking in for Aoife and girls, it was also nice to meet Evoynne Maher who was busy attending to makeup she is a very busy lady I had met her at 4 of my Christmas weddings in Tipperary, she was also did makeup for our daughters wedding in Drangan back in November 2013, continued success to her for 2014 and beyond. Carrickbeg is a village on the southern side of the river Suir in south Tipperary. Carrickbeg comprises as part of the town of Carrick-on-Suir on the southern side of the River Suir, Carrickbeg is a small village within the Town of Carrick-On-Suir in Tipperary. In Carrickbeg, just across the bridge from Carrick-on-Suir in County Waterford, people can discover St Molleran’s Church. It stands on the site of a 13th-century friary, fragments of which are incorporated into the present building. The Earl of Ormond gave the land to the Franciscans, who occupied the site until the suppression of the monasteries under Henry VIII. The front wall stands as a reminder of the Great Famine; peasants constructed it as part of a work-for-food project in the 1840s.
Aoife & Colin were really great to work with, as far as recording on the day was concerned I had a free hand to just do my own thing, Aoife is a really bubbly person which is obvious from the above wedding video highlights clip. There is something special about calling to a house and capturing the bridal preps, the excitement and fun is always somewhat infectious, I remember on that particular day i already had shot 6 weddings back to back and was feeling just a tiny little bit sluggish to say the least.
When I entered Aoife’s house the fun and laughter was just the kick start that I needed to get another creative camera shoot under way. The wedding reception was in the wonderful Newpark Hotel Kilkenny, its amazing just how many brides in Tipperary are crossing the border to have their wedding reception at Hotels in Kilkenny. I suppose its difficult to name the best wedding venue in Kilkenny because the choice is very broad and the quality of each is equally superb, I must admit that the the Kilkenny Newpark is one of my favorite wedding venues for recording wedding videos. Drangan video is the Newpark’s list of recommended Videographers from Tipperary, tanks for that.
Wishing Aoife & Colin all the very best for the future, it was an absolute pleasure to have been chosen to film and produce their wedding video.
