If someone predicted that the Irish wedding industry would grind to a halt in 2020 we would have not believed it, so here we are May with all weddings cancelled for the foreseeable future.
Here at Drangan Video we are busy helping couples with rescheduling their weddings to next year, we are happy to help out in securing a new date, we are also very optimistic that our industry will recover later this year and into 2021
In this blog post I’m happy to be sharing Amy and Shane’s wedding video highlights from December 20th 2019 happy memories from carefree times.
Thurles is at the heart of weddings in Tipperary ,the town is located in Tipperary the largest inland county in Ireland. Siting on the banks of the River Suir and overlooked by the Silvermine Mountains and the Slievearagh Hills Thurles has something to suit everyone’s liking, shopping, restruants, pubs and not forgetting Semple Stadium where many battles were fought between rival counties down through the years.
Amy and Shanes Wedding Video Story
The story begins with the bridal preps in Amy’s parents house in Windsor Grove, Mill Road Thurles is a nice leafy estate on the outskirts of the town. The morning preps are my favorite part of the day, I love the excitement, laughter and all that positive energy its like a tonic it certainly puts a spring in my step.
My style of videography is very much a fly on the wall approach with no setting up of cheesy shots or directing. The video features a lovely moment when Amy’s Dad enters the room setting eyes on his beautiful daughter dressed and ready to walk up the aisle.

The Cathedral of the Assumption Thurles
I love Thurles Cathedral I always feel at home there as it’s filled with lots of memories of happy wedding days the architecture is outstanding offering beautiful soaring space, with graceful arches and symmetrical lines.
Amy arrived in good time for the long walk up the aisle with her proud dad an emotional moment for Shane setting eyes on his new Bride for the first time, its always a nice memory on video.
Fr. Joe Walsh is a well known Celebrant for weddings in Tipperary he is a lovey guy gifted at easing wedding day nerves.

Templemore town park for wedding photos
The park is my favorite location for wedding video shoots in Tipperary, the park has a fantastic playground situated on the banks of the Lake. We stopped off at the park on our way to to the hotel we used the wooded area for the photo call, the day was cold and dry a winter fog had descended on the park providing an amazing back drop for a winter wedding video, the sound of passing trucks hooting horns rang out through the park, the wedding party responded with happy cheers, it was nice chill out time for Amy and Shane.
The Lakeside Hotel & Leisure Centre Killaloe
Our final destination was the fantastic lakeside Hotel which sits on the banks of the Shannon River providing stunning views of Ballina
in Co. Tipperary and Killaloe in Co. Clare.
I love everything about the venue the well maintained gardens overlooking the beauty of Lough Derg.
Amy and Shane’s wedding reception was a truly memorable occasion the speeches were conducted before the meal discreetly recorded from a distance, after the main coarse Bride, Groom and guests enjoyed a performance by a singing waiter which was great fun on video.

Amy and Shane were so nice to work with they are both so down to earth with a great sense of humor, they are truly delighted with their wedding video.
