Wedding Trends for Summer 2018

Hard to believe that the summer of 2018 is upon us already, and for once it would seem like to weather is in our favour. Here’s hoping it will last the course for all you excited brides and grooms who are getting married this season.

In this blog post we are going to talk about some of the wedding trends of summer 2018 and hope you find them inspirational for any last minute planning you still have ahead of you.

Wedding Crystal for weddings in Kilkenny

Glass and Crystal Décor
2018 has seen a huge move towards glass and crystal décor and this looks set to continue for the rest of the year and into 2019. Brides and grooms are looking to colourful crystals and glass centrepieces to really make a statement in their venues of choice and we have to say we have been truly impressed by what we have seen so far. Think sparkling glass vases and wedding favours of affordable crystal for your guests and you can be assured that your décor will stand out for all the right reasons.

Rent, don’t buy!

More and more we are seeing groom and bridal parties renting their outfits for the day, why spend all that money on suits and dresses that are unlikely to be worn again. Every major town and city in Ireland has a suit or dress rental shop so you can be assured that choice will never be a problem.

Flowers from your garden

This trend is something we love to see when filming a wedding for our blissful brides and grooms. No more vases of expensively imported lilies or roses, why not take some inspiration from your own or a family members garden and decorate your venue with flowers that have been home grown. Wild flowers also make a real statement and add a touch of something special to any occasion. Consider asking a family member who loves the garden, to make up buttonholes or bouquets, these can then be dried and framed to make a wonderful keepsake.

Summer flavours for your wedding cake

Take inspiration from the fairy-tale wedding of Harry and Meghan and opt for stunning summer flavours for your very own royal wedding. The royal couple opted for lemon and elderflower but you could also choose from summer fruits such as strawberry, lemon, orange, vanilla or blueberry. Decorate with garden herbs or edible flowers for that real touch of summer.

Wedding balloons for Brides in Tipperary

Balloons, balloons and more balloons!

Yes, balloons are back in fashion and everyone we meet seems to be excited about this. Who doesn’t love a balloon arch or balloon centrepieces at a wedding? Opt for summer pastels such as pink, yellow and pale blue or coordinate with your bridal party colours for a real statement. These fun centrepieces can be complimented with a balloon artist to keep the kiddies amused later in the evening.
