Eamon’s News & Views

I have been recording and producing Video’s for more than 15 years and looking back  it only seems like yesterday since turning out my very first  Video Production.  Over the years Wedding Videos have accounted for 90% of all my productions, and like other Professional Wedding Videographers we all have developed a personal style of Wedding Video Production.

I have listed some of the qualities that in my view help to make Drangan Video a popular choice by Munster Brides, and Tipperary Brides.

Camera Shoot on the day:

My approach to recording a Wedding is very easygoing and relaxed, there is no setting up of cheesy shots or asking the couple to perform for the camera. I always use two cameras for the ceremony and the speeches  which is great for cutaway shots and different  angles of the same shot. I am credited with been very discreet on the day, it is very important as a Wedding Videographer to blend in with the guests and not to noticed especially during the Wedding ceremony. Testimonials

Recording crisp & clear sound :

It goes without saying that high picture quality is something that is to be expected from HD Video Cameras, all the very latest Video Cams are capable of shooting stunning Video Footage :  Recording high quality sound is not as straightforward though. Drangan Video has invested in a broad range of external audio recording equipment consisting of top quality lapel microphones, and directional microphones. The musicians and singers are a priority when it comes to sound recording by Drangan Video, typically a minimum of two directional microphones will be placed in front of the singers/musicians, separate discreet mic’s will pick up the vows, readers and celebrants.

Editing and post production :

This is one area of Wedding Video Production that I feel really passionate about, it would be so easy to arrive home from a wedding shoot and just simply transfer the recorded footage to a DVD.  Editing is the key to a stylish Wedding Video Production my average time spent on each Wedding Edit is two days. Because of work commitments park time weekend Videographers will find it very difficult to allocate a decent amount of  time to editing and post production, very often they will pass on the editing to another person which is not an ideal situation.  I shoot and edit all my own work which is a wonderful way of combining  my creative camera skills with detailed editing skills.

Price of a Wedding Video :

I have seen blog posts and adverts by Wedding Videographers  claiming to be not alone the Cheapest in Tippeary but in Ireland. I had a call from a couple recently who attended a recent Wedding Fair in Tipperary  they were amused by one of the Wedding Video Compans who claimed to be cheapest in Munster, They were also offering huge discounts for passing their details to other couples. I put it to the couple as to why they had not booked this particular Video Company, the said that the sample DVD was poorly produced and not well edited, to sum up they felt that their Wedding Packages were very cheap & affordable but not good value for money.  Drangan Video Prices.

Looking forward to fulfilling all my Wedding Video Bookings in Tipperary & Munster for 20113 and beyond, if you happen to be attending any of these Weddings be sure to come over and say Hi 🙂

Best Regards

Drama, Shows and Musicals in Tipperary

This is a clip from a recent production of Philadelphia Here I Come which was presented The Fionn Mac Cumhaill Players who are based in Cloneen, Co. Tipperary. Cloneen is vibrant little village situated at the foot of Slievenamon between Fethard & Mullinahone

Essentially, this play is a tragicomedy. It contains many comical scenes, especially the scene with Lizzy Sweeny, Gar’s aunt, in which Gar decides to go to America. Despite the fact that Gar seems to have a relationship with his father no different to that of Boss and Employee, there are indications that there is love between them. in episode 1, Madge says “It must have been near daybreak when he (SB O’Donnell) got to sleep last night. I could hear the bed creaking.” Other indications that SB is secretly devastated by his son’s imminent departure, include his remembrance of Gar in a sailor suit proudly declaring he need not go to school, he’ll work in his fathers shop – a memory of an event that may not have happened, and the scene when he pretends to read the paper, but fails to notice that it has been upside-down.

Videographers in Tipperary are spoiled for choice when it comes to Recording wonderful Musicals & Dramas in and around Cashel, Clonmel, Rosegreen, Thurles, Fethard and Carrick On Suir.
Last  night I recorded a fantastic production of Chess by St. Mary’s Choral Society, Clonmel Co. Tipperary, I hope to have a clip from it up here very soon.

Wedding In Crook Co. Waterford

Here is a recent Wedding Video which I recorded in Crook Church, Waterford. Jennifer & Stephen came home from Australia to celebrate their Wedding In Waterford, the Reception took place in Waterford Castle it is one the best Wedding Venues in Munster

Jen & Stephen and their families were all booked in Waterford Castle for the weekend, Crook Church is only short distance from Waterford Castle, so Jen arrived on time for the Wedding ceremony.
After the ceremony we stopped off at a small harbour near crook for the photo shoot and I recorded some great video footage of the Bridal Party, after that we headed for Waterford Castle for a cracking Wedding Reception.

Waterford Castle Hotel and Golf Club is uniquely situated on a private 310 acre Island, enjoying a truly picturesque and enchanting location of the surrounding River Suir and country side.

The mystical experience begins when guests arrive at the ferry to be taken across the water to another world.  Passing through a stone archway you are greeted by an open log fire and beautiful Portland stone walls adorned with the original tapestries the family that lived here for over 500 years.  If one looks closely enough you can see evidence of mounted spears and swords from times past.

The Munster Room, the main dining room creates a unique ambience amidst oak-panelled walls and an ornate 16th century ceiling. Our chef Michael Quinn combines fresh local produce with European influences in your personal selection of menus.  It was a pleasure working with Jen & Stephen their wedding day in Crook Church and Waterford Castle was just perfect in every way, they are a lovely easygoing couple and they were happy to leave the wedding Video production to myself. This clip from their Wedding DVD is a lovely memory of a very special day.
