Due to Covid restrictions and the necessity of social distancing micro weddings have become a more popular choice for couples wishing to get married under the current guidelines. Here at Drangan Video in Kilkenny & Tipperary we are happy to embrace the new micro wedding trend, check out the following wedding highlights film.
Laura and Brian Micro Wedding In Kilkenny
Laura and Brian had been planning their big day for mid summer 2020, they had been looking forward to having 200 guests, needless to say it was very disappointing having to postpone until December with only a fraction of their original guest list celebrating with them on the new date. They were able to hold on to most of their suppliers thankfully I was still on the list for December.

The new guest list included family and a few close friends the hotel was dropped in favor of a home reception hosted Laura’s parents in the family home. Video coverage began with coverage of the morning preps in the house, followed by a lovely ceremony in Folkstown Church on the Waterford road it is one of my favorite wedding ceremony venues in Kilkenny.
Wedding Photos In St. Kieran’s College
After a dry morning the weather in the afternoon was not favorable for an outdoor photo shoot, laura & Brian got permission to have photos done in St. Kierans Collegue. It is the oldest Catholic secondary school in Ireland, the building and grounds are the perfect location for wedding photo shoots, Shane O’ Neill from Aspect Photography captured amazing images in his usual easygoing no fuss style.
What Is A Micro Wedding ?
Micro weddings are sometimes confused with elopements, an elopement is usually just the couple their witnesses and a celebrant. Micro weddings are usually limited to 25 guests including the Bride & Groom. The smaller number of guests creates a more personal experience for the entire day and provides more freedom to chat with guests. Micro weddings are so appealing they will certainly be a popular choice for the foreseeable future.

A recent review from a Micro Wedding In Carlow
Couples really should consider a micro wedding, I think some people can get caught up in the party sometimes which is so not the most important part. Myself and Dónal just wanted to married and I’m sure we will have a party when everything is completely safe to do so. If someone would of told me I’d be getting married with 10 people there and having a reception in my family home with just our parents and that our wedding photos would be at our house, or that I would be doing my own hair and makeup and dancing our first dance in our sitting room with my doggies running around I would have laughed. Instead I absolutely loved all of the above so much that I even completely forgot my bouquet ha ha.. typical me!! Eamon you are honestly such a gentleman, can’t wait to see the outcome of the video.
Thanks again Eamon
