Kilkenny couple Eimear and Denis have finally tied the knot and signed up for for married life as Mr. and Mrs. Ryan.
It was a real pleasure to have been their preferred choice of wedding videographer thanks to them for allowing their wedding highlights to be shared on our drangan video blog page.
The video highlights begin at Eimear’s home with coverage of the bridal preps the house was a hive of activity and great fun, Eimear has a very bubbly personality which is well portrayed on camera, she was a joy to work with on the day.
St. John’s Church was the wedding ceremony location, I always enjoy the feeling of this magnificent church both the interior and exterior and the impressive architecture, it is my favorite church in Kilkenny ideal for discreet wedding videography, it is very spacious with lots of natural day light.
After the ceremony the wedding guests were in for a pleasant surprise , The Vintage Parlour was parked outside the church it is a Quirky Vintage Themed Rice Horse Box converted to make your wedding a memorable occasion. Offering mobile refreshments for after the ceremony, Eimear and Denis enjoyed a cool ice-cream break before heading to the the hotel.
Eimear and Denis enjoyed a fab wedding reception in the Newpark Hotel Kilkenny, located only a few minutes from the historic city of Kilkenny the hotel is within walking distance of Kilkenny Castle and Park. The staff at the Newpark are so friendly and helful it is always a pleasure shooting weddings there.
Thanks to Eimear and Denis for choosing Drangan Video, they were a smashing couple to work with, we had great fun shooting their wedding film.

Ciarán and Hillary celebrated their wedding ceremony in St. Carthage’s Cathedral Lismore Co.Waterford, the historic cathedral is situated on a commanding position overlooking the magnificent Lismore Castle. The wonderful old cathedral in the heart of Lismore is still in operation today no modern or fancy frills in this church, just an amazing step back in time, it is one of my favorite wedding ceremony venues.
Hillary must have had a feeling of stepping back in time when she entered the cathedral and walked up the aisle to join Ciarán, they were both entering another chapter in the history of their lives as Mr. and Mrs. Keating.
Over the years we are fortunate to have provided wedding videography services for countless happy couples throughout Waterford, Tipperary, Kilkenny and up and down length and breath of Ireland. We have already filmed weddings in all the prime locations, they are all special in their own particular way but none can match beautiful Lismore in Waterford, needles to say we were thrilled when Hillary and Ciarán said yes to Drangan Video as their preferred choice of videographer.
Hillary and Ciarán’s wedding day story begins with morning preparations, the video features coverage of both the boys and girls getting ready, it was the perfect beginning to what was a perfect day.
Hillary arrived on time for the 1pm wedding ceremony in St. Carthages’s Cathedral, she looked radiant as she walked up the long aisle with her proud Dad, the Autumn sunlight was casting a welcoming light through the huge stained glass windows.
After the ceremony the bridal party stopped off at Lismore Castle for some photos, we also got loads of great video footage.
The wedding reception took place in the Fitzgeralds Vienna Woods Hotel Cork it is beautiful country house situated in Glanmire . The staff are so friendly and helpful , they don’t delay on getting the show on the road the band were ready to start by 10pm.
Thanks to Ciarán and Hillary for allowing their wedding story to featured in this week’s wedding blog, they are a lovey couple to work with we wish them every happiness for the future.

Today I am sharing highlights from the wedding of Nicolle and Simon who were married in the Sacred Heart Church Templemore Co. Tipperary in July.
As a Tipperary based wedding videographer I take great pride in sharing wedding videos that I’ve filmed in my home county, I think its true to say that “there is no place like home”
Teplemore is one of my favorite wedding locations in Tipperary, it proudly sits beneath the slopes of the Devil’s Bit mountain range, right in the centre of the Suir Valley, a prosperous and rich agricultural area, the town of Templemore is situated in north Tipperary.
July 22nd 2017 was a beautiful warm sunny day ideal for shooting a wedding film.
Nicolle and the girls were getting ready in Nenagh , I arrived at 11am to record video footage of the bridal preps before heading off to the church to cover the ceremony, I always advise brides to avail of video cover of the preparations it is a lovely beginning for a wedding day story.
Sacred Heart Church Templemore Tipperary
Sacred Heart Church Templemore is a detached gable-fronted Gothic Revival church, built 1883, carved limestone piers with metal cross finials to boundary entrance, with cast-iron railings and gates, dressed limestone walls are just some the features that makes it one of the most popular wedding ceremony locations in Tipperary.
The wedding ceremony was conducted by Fr. John Campion he is a nice easy going guy, the bride and groom were very relaxed during the mass thanks to Fr. John’s light hearted ceremony.
Templemore Town Park
After the wedding ceremony we stopped of at the Town Park in Templemore the park is a real treasure for wedding video recording it is one of those places that you would hardly know is there you could easily drive by and miss out .This park has it all a beautiful lake an impressive fountain, Nicolle and Simon enjoyed a break from their busy wedding day time table by taking a romantic stroll around the grounds, it was an ideal opportunity for gathering top quality wedding video footage.
Great National Abbey Court Hotel Nenagh
The wedding reception took place in The Abbeycourt in Nenagh which is renowned for hosting top class wedding receptions, it is situated within walking of Nenagh, Nicolle and Simon enjoyed a fantastic wedding reception Ray and all the staff pulled out all the plugs to make it a wedding to remember.
Thanks to Nicolle and Simon for choosing me as their wedding videographer, they were a pleasure to work with, both so easygoing and relaxed.
Hope you enjoyed viewing their wedding video highlights, if you are currently in the process of planning your wedding in Tipperary, Kilkenny, Limerick or indeed anywhere in Ireland, please feel free to contact myself Eamon who will be happy to discuss our 2018/2019/2020 range of HD wedding video packages.
Here at Drangan Video in Tipperary we offer many options and extras for your wedding video, in this blog post we take a closer look at those options, here is some advice on what to include with your wedding video package.
A Photomontage Or Not ?
Don’t get me wrong it’s always nice to look at baby pictures and honeymoon snapshots. Do you really need them at the beginning of your wedding film.
My advice is to get straight into the wedding video story . If you’re hiring a videographer to cover your full day, you’ll have plenty of footage to produce a skillfully edited video that your friends and family will enjoy watching over again and again.
Full Wedding In HD: On USB Stick
The majority of wedding videos are still delivered on DVDs. most videographers including myself are now offering wedding videos in HD on thumb drives as an optional extra. In this new age of On Demand films many couples do not have a DVD player. A usb drive allows you to view your wedding video in full HD quality on your TV mostTVs now come with built-in USB ports.
Always Include: The Ceremony
I like to include footage of the full wedding ceremony especially the important words the tears or laughs that were all part of the ceremony.
If you’re getting married in a church just make sure they allow filming inside, my advice is don’t cut the ceremony coverage. Also allow plenty time for your videographer to capture the guests arriving before the ceremony.
Include The Drinks Reception
All of your family and friends are thrilled to be with you and are enjoying the party atmosphere but alas you are too busy and not available to join them for the moment.
As your wedding videographer I will capture many of those little moments that you are missing out on. For instance, if you’re busy taking photos during the drinks reception, you might miss your guests trying out the photo booth props. Just bear in mind the day will go by in a flash and you’ll miss out on all those little moments that helped to make your big day so special.
Include: Short Edit Highlights
This is what you will want to show to your family and friends who won’t want to sit through the entire wedding ceremony, speeches and dancing.
That’s why short edit highlight clips a 4min – 5min movie that includes just the highlights of the day are becoming so popular in wedding video productions they are more entertaining for viewers. It’s also a great way to share the day’s top moments with friends in other parts of the world who couldn’t be there on the day
Most couple still want the longer version , here at Drangan Video we also supply a 1-2 hour wedding film which will include every detail from your day.
This is the highlights from the wedding of Laura and Denis who were recently married in Ballingarry Co. Tipperary followed by a wonderful reception in Langton House Hotel Kilkenny.
Dump: Unedited Footage
If you would like to hold on to the unedited camera footage, your videographer may include with your package. If it’s not included in your package, it’s not worth paying the extra money, more than likely you will never look it
Here at Drangan Viodeo we provide a short highlight video and a long 1-2 video of the full day
A Second Camera ?
Two cameras are better than one. The ability to cut back and forth between both camera’s makes for a more entertaining wedding video.
Hiring two camera shooters is costly, here at Drangan Video you get one camera shooter Eamon who uses two cameras during the ceremony and speeches.
If your budget will not cover hiring a second cameraman, consider making room for two cameras — one manned and moving around and the other stationary. This will enable your videographer to get a wide shot of the ceremony and close-ups of the action, and incorporate both into the video.
If you are considering hiring a professional wedding videographer why not get in contact with myself Eamon here at drangan video who will be happy to offer advice on our range of affordable HD wedding video packages.
We cover weddings in Tipperary, Kilkenny, Waterford and many other wedding locations throughout Ireland.
Well, here we are facing into the last weeks of 2016 and looking forward already to our spring and summer weddings in 2017. This year has seen an abundance of new trends for Irish Brides and Grooms, many of which are likely to continue right through to 2017. In this blog post I would like to talk about some of the more eye-catching and unique trends I have noticed over the past 12 months and perhaps inspire you and your intended with some ideas for your upcoming nuptials.
Home-made Wedding Decor
Over the past year we have been blessed to video the most wonderful weddings up and down the country. What we noticed more and more as the month’s flew by was that Brides and Grooms were becoming more adventurous with the DIY aspect of their wedding décor. Some of the wonderful home-made touches we were lucky enough to enjoy included:
DIY Table centrepieces’,
Homemade wedding invitations,
Hand drawn place settings,
Twinkle lights and seasonal décor brought to new life by creative couples.
Alternative Wedding Suppliers
We have also seen an influx of new and exciting service providers, meaning the traditional aspects of a wedding ceremony are now not the only things to look forward to for guests and family.
Sweet Carts – stocked with wonderfully colourful candy and customised sweet jars and cups for guests to take away as a memento of the big day.
Make your own Tayto sandwich stand – without doubt one of the most impressive stands I’ve seen. Each guest could take away a pack that included bread, butter, plastic knife and of course a packet of cheese and onion Taytos. We were assured that this went down very well with all guests who were only too happy to have a quick and easy snack the morning after the festivities.
Bouncy castles, portable playgrounds and kids entertainment the likes of which we had never witnessed before. These extra touches go a long way for the little ones attending your big day and mean that the parents can relax without wondering if the festivities are a little too much for their child.
Alternative Wedding Guestbooks
There has also been some fabulously creative alternatives to the traditional guestbook
Wedding guestbook frames – write your message to the bride and groom on a little wooden heart and pop it into the frame provided through a little slot on the top. A wonderful keepsake for the Bride and Groom and something that will have them thinking of their wedding day for years to come.
Fingerprint wedding guestbook. Instead of writing on a traditional guest book, guests dip their finger or thumb in some paint or ink and stamp it on the canvas provided, along with their initials or a little note.
Christmas baubles – One wedding we worked at last Christmas, gave each of their guests a plain Christmas tree bauble along with a silver/gold pen and asked guests to write their names and hang it on the tree in the reception venue. A beautiful sight at the end of the night!
