Wedding Videographer Tipperary

Gone are the days of simply numbering the tables at your wedding venue, more and more we are starting to see a strong trend towards naming tables… and we absolutely love it!

Think about the places, songs or movies that really hold a special place in your heart and then let your ideas flow as you begin to name your tables.

Destinations that are close to your heart:

Think of places that are special to you and your partner. Perhaps you met in a café in Dublin or holidayed in Paris, maybe your fiancé proposed to you in Rome? Tell your story through the cities and countries that shaped your relationship to date by naming your tables accordingly and perhaps providing a few lines about why this place is so special for you.

Important dates in your lives:

From the date you met to the date you became engaged and every date in between, let your guests share in your memories by naming each table after a special time in your life so far.

Movies that make you smile:

For the movie lovers out there, this is a really fun way to share your favourites with your family and friends. Whether you’re a lover of rom-coms or horror movies, this light-hearted way to name your tables will be a real icebreaker with your guests. Perhaps include some trivia about each movie to get your guests talking at the table?

Songs that make you tap your feet:

A song can trigger a thousand memories and never more so than when in the company of the people you love. Name your tables after songs that are going to appear in your set list a little later on or tunes that tell a story about your relationship.

A book lover’s paradise:

Perhaps you and your intended are real bookworms and want to share your favourite reads with your guests? Design table name cards that mimic book covers with quotes from the happy couple in the place of critic quotes. If you are a fan of a certain book series (think Harry Potter) you should have enough books to name every table!

Quotes with meaning:

Borrow the words of your heroes by using famous quotes to name your tables. Whether you opt for witty and humorous or topical and formal is totally up to you.

The places you love to visit together:

Whether it’s your Saturday trip to the local market, a restaurant you love to eat in or your local bar, name your tables after the places you feel most comfortable.

Work with nature:

Name your tables after your favourite flowers or herbs and use this opportunity to add to your table décor. A bunch of thyme at one table, a peony at another, the room will be smelling and looking wonderful!

Is Wedding Insurance Worth it?

In this wedding blog post we are having a look at the idea setting  up wedding insurance,  most couples will agree  that its not the most glamorous part of wedding planning,  wedding insurance  might seem like an  unnecessary cost  but what happens if something  goes wrong on the most important day of your life, so is wedding insurance worth it ?

Wedding Video Tipperary

Over the past number of years, we have heard ‘wedding insurance’ mentioned a number of times by our wonderful brides and grooms. Some wonder if it is worth the cost, others are very grateful that they did take out a policy, because of unforeseen circumstances on the day. With this in mind we have taken an in-depth look at some of the wedding insurance policies offered in Ireland and hope you find this information useful when it comes to deciding if wedding insurance is right for you. Please note we have just researched companies that offer insurance cover for weddings taking place in Ireland, these do not cover weddings abroad.

Who provides wedding insurance in Ireland?

From our research we have found that quite a lot of mainstream insurance providers will also provide cover for weddings. However, their policies do vary massively so in our opinion it’s worth going with a dedicated wedding insurer. It’s also worth checking with your existing home insurance provider to see if they can offer you any cover and whether a discount can be offered to existing customers.

The main dedicated wedding insurance providers in Ireland appear to be:

• Weddinginsurance.ie
Irishweddinginsurance.ie
Weddingcover.ie

Mainstream providers who have also appeared in our searches:

• Sheridan.ie
Insure4less.ie
Blueinsurance.ie

How much does wedding insurance cost?

From our research we have found that wedding insurance is a once off payment ranging from €34 right up to €145. The higher the premium, the higher the maximum payment is for a cancellation on your big day.

What does the policy cover?

Most policies that we have researched will cover cancellation of venues, suppliers, gifts, personal liability, cars and transport, accidents, legal expenses and smaller items such as rings, flowers and cakes.

Optional extras are also available on most policies and these can cover marquee damage or cancellation and public liability cover.

So is it worth it?

For such a small payment, I do think taking out an insurance policy to cover all eventualities would certainly be worth it. When we think of the amount of organisation and the years of savings that go into planning a wedding, the premium prices we have found online are extremely minimal. That said, in a lot of cases, insurance cover may not be required; all hotels and venues will have their own insurance policies in place to cover all persons attending the venue. Suppliers should also have their own insurance policies which should ensure you are covered in the event of a no-show, double booking or substandard service or product.

Wedding Planning Tipperary

Our advice: Speak with each and every supplier and venue and ask them about their insurance policy, feel free to ask for something in writing if this will make you feel more comfortable. If you still feel that you need extra insurance cover after talking with your vendors, then you will find a host of Irish insurance companies that will tailor a package for your requirements.

2018 Wedding Trends

Whether you are tying the knot with your long term childhood  sweetheart, or you’ve  quite literally   bumped into each other walking down the street in Kilkenny or Tipperary  there is no doubt that your love story is  unique.  This is why  your  2018 wedding should have  its own set of unique trends that will make your wedding day stand out from the status quo

Wedding Trends In Tipperary

Here at Drangan Video we like to keep up to date with the wedding trends that are happening up and down the country. In 2018 we are in for some real treats with trends revolving around food, your guests and fantastic metallic colours.

Drangan Video has been providing wedding videography services for brides and grooms throughout Ireland for over a decade and we like to take notice of what makes every day special. With this in mind we are going to cover some trends that look set to take 2018 by storm and most likely 2019 as the trends grow and become tailored to each wedding experience.

It’s all about the guests (after the bride of course)!

2018 see’s couples concentrating on the experience their guests will have at their celebrations. The last year has seen a real emphasis on guest experience and entertainment and this is going to reach new heights in 2018. Consider singing waiters, dancers while you eat, magicians and photo booths, all provided for the entertainment of the guests. We have heard some couples talk about 1 act plays, talent shows for the kids and even movie screenings for the day after the big day. Put your thinking cap on and you’ll be surprised what trends you can add to this ever-growing list.

A Food Experience like no other

Now that everyone has access to TV programmes such as Master Chef and MKR, we tend to consider ourselves a bit more educated when it comes to gastronomy, and with this, expectations do go up! Brides and grooms up and down the country are counting on top class caterers and hotel venues to really deliver on the goods, no more meat and three veg – not that there is anything wrong with that (we are quite partial to turkey and ham). Other couples are bringing in more unusual food options for their guests, such as noodle vans and taco trucks. If you’re a food lover and you want to celebrate that with your guests, have a search for some of the most wonderful food trucks available in Ireland to make your day even more special.

Industrial Wedding Venues

In 2018 there seems to be more of an emphasis on venues that are not traditionally in use for weddings. Consider an unused (but safe) factory, a converted barn, an old schoolhouse…. The possibilities are endless! Ireland has a wealth of unusual venues to offer that you may not have considered suitable for your ceremony or reception. Have a think about you can do with the right décor and the right location.

Jonathan and Fiona Married In Glen Of Aherlow Tipperary

This is  the highlights video from the wedding of Jonathan and Fiona I am proud to be sharing their wedding day memories in my latest wedding blog.
When it comes to a GAA match  Ballingarry and Kilkenaule are serious rivals with many a hard battle fought on  the field but today were are celebrating a love match between proud Ballingarry woman Fiona and equally proud Killenaule man Jonathan

Video coverage of this lovely wedding begins with the girls getting ready, Fiona and Jonathan were both staying in the Hotel Lodges which  overlook  the Glen of Aherlow.
The Lodges are situated on the grounds of Aherlow House under the shadow  of the Galtee Mountains, it was  just the perfect setting for the wedding preps video. We had great fun and banter with the girls and the boys, it was the upbeat beginning to a perfect day.

Happy Tipperary Couple Say Yes

The wedding ceremony took place in the church of the Sacred Heart, Lisvernane which is only a short spin from Aherlow House.  Fr. Jimmy O’ Donnell  conducted a nice quick wedding ceremony followed by the traditional greeting line outside the church door its  nice to capture  the guests offering congratulations and words of support to the newly weds on video.
Our next stop was Moroney’s Pub  in Lisvernane  just 30 secs from the church,  it was a opportunity for Fiona and Jonathan to unwind and mingle with their  guests,  the sun was beaming down most people were enjoying a chat and drinks outside the pub.

Aherlow House Hotel, Tipperary

I love weddings in Aherlow House it is one the best wedding venues in Tipperary,  the  Díarmuid and Gráinne function room  can accommodate   well over 200 guests.  The natural daylight from the large windows is ideal capturing high quality video footage.
Jonathan and Fiona decided on having the speeches after the meal providing a welcome break for me to relax in the bar and have bite to eat.

Happy Tipperary couple married in Lisvernane Tipperary

Fiona and Jonathan were so nice to work with on the day, they liked my style of videography which is very relaxed and easygoing  I never set up cheesy shots or ask couple to  stage a performance in front of the camera.
If you are in the process of  wedding planning  and thinking about hiring a professional wedding videographer why not get in contact myself Eamon I will be more than happy to discuss our range of HD video packages for 2018 and 2019.

Weddings in Ireland on a Budget

Whether you’re tying the knot in Tipperary, Kilkenny, Waterford or further afield the cost of planning a wedding can be a point of stress for many couples. At a time when you should be feeling excited and happy you may sometimes feel a little overwhelmed by the ever-mounting costs. Having spoken to many couples over the years whilst planning the approach of their wedding video, I have been lucky enough to pick up some really fabulous money saving tips, which I am going to share with you today.

Wedding planning on a budget
Choose your timing wisely

For those of you who really don’t mind what time of the week you get married, there’s a lot to be said for off-peak times. Mid-week weddings in Ireland can give you some superb savings and most venues will throw in some extras free of charge when business is quiet. By choosing a mid-week wedding date you can be assured you will make significant savings. Also, we’re seeing more and more couples opting for the months stretching from autumn to late spring when once again the costs are significantly lower. Avoiding holidays such as Valentines Day, the Christmas season and Bank Holidays will also allow you a bit more leeway with budgeting.

DIY Weddings

Think about all the things you need for the perfect wedding. Now think about how much of this you may be able to do yourself. Rope in artistic friends to work on wedding stationery design and floral decorations and consider making some homemade treats that can be used as wedding favours.

Dressing the Wedding Party

Every wedding party is unique, some will have up to 20 people at the top table, others will opt for a low-key affair with just a Best Man and Maid of Honour. This choice is entirely down to the couple. However, if you’re facing rising costs when dressing the bridal party, it may be an idea to start looking online or at high street retailers as opposed to bridal specialists. Some of our high street stores in Ireland now offer incredible value on clothing for both men and women that would like absolutely wonderful on the day. Also check out eBay and other online marketplaces for clothing, footwear and accessories.

Keep it online

Going digital with your wedding stationery can be a real cost saver when it comes to planning your wedding. We are now talking to many brides and grooms who opt to send invites via email or through social media. This option may not be for everyone but can really make a difference to your budget and really won’t have any impact on the big day itself.

Wedding planning in Tipperary
Ask!

Never be afraid to ask for a discount, you can be assured that your chosen venue has more than covered their costs with the initial quote and there will be room for negotiation in some way. If the venue is unable to give you a better price then ask for extras to be included at no extra cost. Corkage, bar extension, drinks for the toast and evening nibbles may be just some of the items they may be able to accommodate you with.

If you’re currently planning your wedding and looking for a videographer who is affordable, professional and well respected, please get in touch with Eamon here at Drangan Video. Available to travel nationwide at all times of the year, you can be assured of a service that is delivered to the highest standards and impeccable customer service.
