The summer has come and gone it wasn’t the hottest season ever recorded but that didn’t dull the spirits of all the happy wedding videos which I had the pleasure of recording and producing during summer 2015. Once again this year a huge amount of Kilkenny brides to be !! have said yes to Drangan Video as their preferred choice of wedding videographer, Eimear & John are one such couple here is little snippet from their wedding film.
I have lovely memories of Eimear & John’s big day, Eimear was a lovely happy bubbly bride with a warm friendly smile, John was also a happy easygoing groom, he is a very witty guy so we had some good fun during the day.
My day began with a visit to Eimear’s parent’s house to grab some footage of the girls preparing for the happy day, we were lucky with the weather sunny and dry. Having already recording Niamh’s wedding 3 years ago I was confident that we were in for another fun day, this time Niamh was not the center of attention she was busy attending to her little sisters every need. The Gaffney family are so welcoming and friendly it was a pleasure to be in their company once again.
The ceremony took place in Church of the Holy Cross Cuffesgrange, the church is a busy wedding ceremony venue and is a popular choice by many Kilkenny brides. The interior decorative has been replaced following a comprehensive renovation programme undertaken under the direction of Monsignor James Carey (n. d.) in accordance with the Second Vatican Council (1963-5). The church stands proud on an elevated site overlooking the green decorative pastures of Callan/Kilkenny, its one of my favorite wedding ceremony venues in Kilkenny.
After the ceremony we headed for Kilkenny city which is Ireland’s most historic and beautiful medieval city. The use of the term city is a point of some dispute especially by us Tipperary people who are slightly in aw !! of the marble city. Kilkenny people claim its city status because of a medieval charter it received 800 years ago. Kilkenny’s centre is based on the west bank of the River Nore around Parliament Street, Hight Street and the Parade, with Rothe House at one end and Kilkenny Castle on the hill at the other.
In recent years Kilkenny City has become a hub for arts, crafts and design. With its great nightlife and restaurant scene Kilkenny makes an excellent base for exploring Ireland’s ‘sunny southeast’.
The Wonderful Newpark Hotel Kilkenny :
Eimear & John choose the Newpark for their wedding reception, it is my favourite wedding venue the staff are so helpfull and friendly, its a quality wedding venue and is the number one choice by Kilkenny and Tipperary brides. Set on thirty acres of parkland and with award-winning landscaped gardens, the Newpark Hotel provides the perfect backdrop for an amazing wedding day. The Dunmore Suite can cater for up to 160 guests and the Glendine Suite can cater for up to 130 guests for the main wedding meal. For weddings over 180 guests both suites combine to offer the perfect setting for a larger wedding party.
Eimear and John booked our top package the Diamond which is one of five individual wedding packages available from Drangan Video for 2015/2016/2017. this all inclusive package covers the full day beginning with bridal preps in the morning, recording finishes at 11pm that evening.
Once again a big thank you to Eimear & John for asking me to film their special day, it was a wonderful wedding I really enjoyed myself, it didnt seem like work.
