Bernadette Murphy and Ger Purcell were married in Callan Co. Kilkenny in July 2019, I am delighted and proud to be sharing the following highlights clip from their wedding film.
It has been a busy year for Drangan Video and now with 2020 just around the corner we are already busy making plans for the new year wedding season.
Bernadette and Ger’s wedding film begins with morning preps, July 27th was a beautiful calm sunny day it was ideal for the use of a Drone which flew over Bernadette’s house in Tullamaine Callan capturing the beauty of the rich Kilkenny farmland around the Murphy homestead.
The ceremony took place in Church of the Assumption Callan which was full to capacity with family and friends.
We stopped of the Edmond Rice Cottage for photos and video another opportunity for a few cool aerial drone shots.
The wedding reception took place in the wonderfull Newpark Hotel Kilkenny it is one of favourite wedding venues in Kilkenny and many Tipperary Brides have been known to cross the border for their weeding reception in the Newpark.

The wedding video story begun in Kilmanagh Kilkenny with a visit to Ian and the boys who were already in the suits and all set for the Gig, it was nice to get some last minute footage of the boys before heading to Thomastown for the Bridal Preps.
There is so many places of interest in Thomastown. Jerpoint Park, Kilfane Waterfall or Goatsbridge Trout Farm and not forgetting the fabulous Mount Juliet estate and wedding venue, anyway back to the job in hand.
Gemma and the girls were very busy with hair and makeup, the peps are my favorite part of the day its a nice build to the wedding day story. Gemma is such a nice lady very kind and considerate to all her wedding suppliers we all received a gift bag which was a lovely touch.

In June of 2017 we learned that the historic Cashel Palace Hotel was to undergo redevelopment under the investment of the Magnier Family (of Coolmore Stud) and Teo Ah King a Chinese business tycoon. This announcement was welcomed throughout the county of Tipperary and will be a huge boost to the local economy and wedding industry. For those of you who have recently gotten engaged and are hoping to celebrate your big day in 5* luxury, we imagine the Cashel Palace Hotel will be THE venue that ticks all the boxes.
According to latest reports, the hotel is set to reopen in late 2019, this may seem like a long wait, but I’d put money on the fact that it will be worth it!
The plans for the hotel include 60 luxuriously appointed bedrooms, 2 onsite restaurants, a hotel bar, world class leisure centre and of course a function room that will no doubt play host to the most wonderful celebrations this country has ever seen. The project also looks to reinstate the renowned ‘Bishops Walk’ and will include a 3-acre town park, which we are really excited to learn more about.
About the site:
The Palace itself was originally built in the 1730’s and features a breath-taking Queen Anne and early Georgian architectural design. Before they moved to Waterford, the building was initially the home of the Church of Ireland Archbishops. Cashel Palace is situated on a 25-acre site and the grounds lie adjacent to the world famous Rock of Cashel which, can be accessed from the hotel grounds via one of the private gardens.
The hotel ceased trading in 2014 and was purchased by John Magnier in 2016 for 2.25 million Euros. The original resort consisted of the Bolton Library, the coach house and a gate lodge and we really can’t wait to see how these have been preserved to fit in with the new renovations.
Famous Faces at the Cashel Palace Hotel.
Over the decades, the Cashel Palace has played host to some of Hollywood’s elite as well as US dignitaries, world leaders and politicians. Some of the most notable visits were by Ronald Reagan, Richard Burton, Jacqueline Kennedy and Elizabeth Taylor. The hotels’ association with excellence has always been its selling point and we have no doubt that they will strive to keep with this tradition in the future.
Cashel and it’s surrounds have much to offer the modern bride and groom, with most venues now offering civil weddings and a host of onsite services, there is no longer a need to travel between venues on your big day. The team here at Drangan Video love nothing more than travelling to Cashel to film wedding videos for our special couples. The town and surrounding area features magnificent scenery and backdrops for the most stunning photography and video shoots. We are on tenterhooks waiting for the opening of the Cashel Palace Hotel and can’t wait to step inside to provide our wedding videography services in the very near future.
If you are planning a wedding in Cashel and looking for a wedding videographer with flair, please do get in contact with Eamon here at any time. Our dedication to providing you with a service that is professional and our top class customer service, make us the number one choice for wedding videos in Tipperary and the surrounding counties.
The majority of Irish couples are hiring a videographer to film their wedding day in order to relive those special memories over and over for the rest of their lives.
Drones are becoming more and more popular at weddings, improvements in aerial video technology have reached new levels in picture quality, camera size and flight control.
Here at Drangan Video we offer drone videography with all our wedding packages this helps us to go above and beyond and greatly enhance our standard wedding films
In this blog post we would like to introduce you to one of the very latest trends in wedding videography – drone footage.
Drone videography is a trend that has developed enormously over the last 5 years in Ireland. No longer just a hobby, the development of state of the art drones and onboard cameras and videos now mean drone footage can make a huge statement on your big day.
What is a Drone?
A drone is a remotely controlled unmanned aircraft. For the purposes of capturing your big day from the sky, our state of the art drones use onboard cameras that allow us to deliver incredible footage of your wedding from a perspective that will take your breath away.
Approved Drone Pilot:
Our approved drone pilot is registered on the ASSET drone registry, which is a national database of approved drone pilots operating in Ireland. This register is regulated by the IAA (Irish Aviation Authority). Since 2015, all drones over 1kg or any drone regardless of size that flies over 15m above the ground or water, must be registered with the IAA.
Expert Drone Pilot:
Drangan Video work with http://hiddengemmemories.com to deliver the most professional drone wedding videography available on the Irish market today.
Benefits of Drone Videography for your Wedding:
• Fantastic group footage: Whilst your guests are mingling after the ceremony, it’s nigh on impossible to get them all together for some video footage. With our onboard drone cameras we can capture the scene from above, meaning no one is left out of the picture.
• You and your loved one have gone to a lot of trouble to book the perfect venue, wouldn’t you like that captured on video to remember for the rest of your life? All to often, couples spend months visiting venues in order to choose the perfect location, but how often does that venue get featured in all it’s glory in the wedding video? With our drone, we can capture the venue from above, so you can remember just why you chose this special place.
• Location shots: If you are lucky enough to be getting married in a scenic spot, we will work with you to develop a plan to capture all of the most scenic locations on your wedding day.
• Impress your guests: As drone wedding videography is a relatively new wedding service in Ireland, you can be assured that our service will surprise and delight your guests. A great icebreaker and talking point that will ease your guests into the celebrations of the day.
Here at Drangan Video we can offer a full range of services to capture your big day in all its glory:
• Expert wedding videography,
• Extra videographer if required, that will allow us to capture 2 locations at the same time,
• Drone footage of your big day,

Today I’m proud to be sharing video highlights from the wedding of Maria O’ Leary and Paul Shanahan who said yes in the church of the anunciation Bansha Co. Tipperary. Bansha is a vibrant little village in County Tipperary The village is part of the parish of “Bansha and Kilmoyler” it is situated on the main road between Cahir and Tipperary.
Maria and Paul opted for the for the Diamond Package which provides video coverage of the full day from bridal preps in the morning up to 11pm in the evening.
Maria’s parents house was the location for the preps, as I drove in along the driveway with lush green autumn pastures on both sides it was a sight to behold especially for me as I hail from from a proud farming background in Tipperary.
It was now a 11am and the move was on, Maria and her bridesmaids were so nice to work with, they also shared a great sense of fun and good humor.
Maria arrived almost on time 4 minutes after 1pm, Paul and the boys were already in position at the top of the aisle ready for the throw in. Fr. Dick Browne provided a lovely easy flowing lighthearted ceremony all done and dusted within the hour, Bride and groom enjoyed the traditional greeting line outside the church door in lovely Autumn sunshine.
The Glen Of Aherlow Tipperary
