Should We Have A Big Or Small Wedding

Here at Drangan Video we are all set for a return next week to shooting wedding videos in Tipperary Kilkenny and up and down the country, cameras and equipment have been checked out making sure that batteries and sound recording equipment are in perfect condition for our busy Autumn wedding  schedule.
We have been chatting with lots  couples over the past six weeks regarding wedding planning post covid lockdown, the question of should we have a big or small wedding is a popular topic.

Should  we have a big or small wedding

When married couples  hear  that a friend  has popped the question and are are in the process of wedding planning  they smile knowingly about all the hard work that is ahead of them. Planning  a wedding is very exciting  but very hard work, just deciding  on the dress you have to think about whether you want the most modern  design or a more traditional wedding dress,  and then  the big question are you going to splash out on a big wedding  or a smaller  more personal celebration with families and very close friends.

Small weddings work well  because you’ll have  more time with  family and friends  you won’t have to greet 250 guests outside the church door which can take an hour from your day,  instead you can mingle with individual  guests at different times during the day at the reception venue. This is worth thinking  about because having   guests are why you wanted to have a wedding in the first place  you wanted  to share the most important day in your life with the people you love. But If you want to invite  lots of people  the  big wedding is the the way to go, you can invite who want and  don’t have to spend hours  looking   at the guest lists  wondering  how you can possibly cut it down.  Everyone can dance a lot at a big gathering  this is a really good reason for having a big wedding if dancing is something that matters a lot to you.

Weddings In Tipperary

Many  couples are comfortable  with a small wedding because they can have it at a venue like a restaurant where  everyone can sit down  chill and eat.  If you are having  70 people or less  say closer to 30, that amount of people might look lost  in a huge venue, It may seem like you have almost no one there which would be disappointing  considering all time and effort put  into planning your big day

You’ll want to remember your big day.

Here at Drangan Video So many of our couples remark about how the whole is  a blur, they enjoyed their wedding day but they can’t pick out any special moments  from it. That’s not exactly what you want, one  advantage  of a small wedding is that you can relax and enjoy the whole experience  instead of being distracted by so many guests around you all day.

Believe  it or not the job of creating a smaller guest list can be pretty stressful, differing  opinions  can crop up between the bride and groom, each of whom may have small or large families or huge circles of friends who they are  having trouble trimming  down. Big weddings are good for avoiding  arguments about the guest list, you’ll know that you’re both inviting as many people as you want to, anway  who wants to chawing the rag  while planning the most special day in your life

A Small Wedding Could Make People Unhappy

A small wedding could upset people in your life,  friends and family members may not understand your reason  for having  a smaller, more intimate gathering  you may find yourself answering  questions as to why certain people were omitted from the guest list, that doesn’t sound like a good position to be in.
The real question is, what kind of wedding do you really want ?  What is your gut feeling ?  There is for and against  big and small weddings our advice is to go  what your heart is telling you.

Questions to ask your Wedding Videographer

When you’re searching for the perfect wedding videographer, it’s always important that you ask specific questions to ensure you’re getting exactly what you want for your big day. In this article we’re going to look at the questions that we find benefit our brides and grooms most and give our own answer to each question. Here at Drangan Video, we provide a professional wedding videography service with in-house editing and are available for weddings in Tipperary, Kilkenny, Waterford, Limerick  and nationwide.

Question 1: What is the videographers style?

The team at Drangan Video offer a number of different styles to suit your dream wedding video. We find that most of our couples prefer a documentary/natural filming approach here we capture the moments of your day as the actually occur. This means that we don’t intrude upon your day or get in the way of your guests, and the resulting video is a true representation of your wedding day. A documentary style wedding video means we won’t stage any shots, we’ll just quietly work away in the background while you enjoy the celebrations.

Question 2: Does the Videographer have experience?

Having confidence in your wedding videographer is really the most important part of making your choice. Whilst we all know someone who is good with a camera, your wedding video should really only be shot by someone who has years of experience and can work professionally at every moment of the day. Drangan Video have provided wedding videography services to hundreds of brides and grooms right across Ireland. We know where we need to be and when and you can be assured that we will never miss a moment of your big day.

Question 3: Does the Videographer book more than one Wedding a day?

The simple answer to this question in NO. Even if we have a request for one wedding in the morning and another in the late afternoon, we will never book more than one wedding video a day. Our focus is on you and your intended for as long as you need us and we can promise you that you have our full attention.

Question 4: Does the Videographer Outsource the Editing?

Drangan Video does not outsource any editing and has invested heavily in an editing suite to ensure we have full control over the quality of your wedding video. Outsourcing editing can lead to long delays and we know that simply isn’t an option for our brides and grooms.

Question 5: What Equipment does the Videographer use?

Using the very latest in videography equipment, hardware and software, the team here at Drangan will be utilising state of the art cameras and sound equipment when filming your wedding. No expense has been spared to ensure you are presented with the most beautiful wedding video!

Wedding Bells In Thomastown Kilkenny: for Happy Couple Fiona and Gerard

As I headed for Thomastown which by the way  is the biggest town in Co. Kilkenny appart from Kilkenny City,  thoughts of what I could do and sites to see were going through my mind. Maybe a browse around Karen Morgan’s pottery shop or  visit Jerpoint Glass and learn about the craft of blowing or a round of golf at the fabulous Mount Juliet Estate, suddenly reality kicked in I had arrived at The Church of the Assumption for the wedding of Fiona and Gerard.

After setting up my camera and sound system in the church, I headed off to Stoneyford to capture bridal preps at Fiona’s parent’s house.  There is a  particularly nice shot of Fiona receiving a cup of tea from her ever caring chief bridesmaid Bridget, “you can’t beat a cuppa when the going gets tough.”  It’s capturing the little things like this that help to make the perfect wedding video.

After an a nice relaxed wedding ceremony which was conducted by Fr. Liam Cassin we quickley made our way to the wedding reception venue.   Faithlegg House Hotel  is a top class 4 star wedding reception venue situated in Cheekpoint Co. Waterford and is set on a 200 acre estate featuring high class golf coarse.  In my  roll as a Waterford Wedding Videographer I have recorded many wedding ceremonies in Faithlegg Church which is located just opposite the entrance to Faithlegg Hotel, lots of  couples decide on this combination of wedding ceremony and reception venue  as a one stop wedding location in Munster.

I really enjoyed working with Fiona & Gerard they were lovely and easgoing on the day, which made my job as their wedding videographer enjoyable! the day seemed to fly by.  They were a typical Kilkenny Bride & Groom just so down to earth  and very friendly.

Thanks to Fiona for the following comment which she posted on my Drangan Video Facebook Page : ” Eamon, again thank you so much for capturing our wedding day!. You did a fantastic job, your a true gentleman and we couldn’t have asked for anyone more talented and professional.”

The comming weekend is another busy one for Drangan Video,  with 3 weddings lined up for filming, 2 in Kilkenny/Waterford and 1 in my home Premier County.

Looking forward to sharing more wedding news very soon.

Regards Eamon.
