Flash Mob Wedding Surprise In Thurles

Here at Drangan Video we are happy to be back again filming weddings in Tipperary, Kilkenny, Waterford, Carlow and up and down the country,  from a personal point of view its fantastic to be back working again. The wedding industry is embracing a new normal, small weddings are very different but in a nice way.
Thurles couple Denise and Paul had been planning their wedding day for more than two years, they had close to 200 guests on the invite list, then due to restrictions they were only allowed a fraction of the original list.
Check out the following highlights from their wedding film, the clip shows a very happy couple enjoying a fab wedding celebration with just family and close relatives.

Weddings In The Anner Hotel Thurles Tipperary

Video coverage of the day began with bridal preps in the the Anner Hotel, If you are looking for the perfect  country house wedding setting  the  Anner Hotel is the answer, the hotel has been in the wedding business  for almost 60 years. The management and staff are totally committed to doing  everything  they can to make every wedding  special, they also have a one wedding per day policy.
Denise and Paul  discussed their wedding day planning  with  Deirdre Crowe the new wedding co-coordinator. Deirdre is so nice to deal with, she will always make time for a friendly chat.

Weddings In The Cathedral of the Assumption Thurles

One of many features of the Cathedral is the high-domed tabernacle it was designed by a student of Michelangelo, the tabernacle rested on the white marble Altar until the renovations during 1970, the one hundred and fitly feet high bell tower is one most important landmarks in Thurles.
Denise and Paul exchanged vows in the cathedral, Fr. Joe Walsh presided over a lovely ceremony with his usual mix of good humor and prayerful moments of reflection.

A  Wedding Flash Mob Surprise In Thurles

The definition of a flash mob is a group of strangers  who gather together in a public place using electronic media such as mobile phones or the Internet to behave in a predetermined manner for a predetermined amount of time, and then quickly move away a successful flash mob event depends on the element of surprise.
As  Denise & Paul walked down the aisle as husband and wife little did they know what awaited them on the steps of the cathedral, they were greeted by a wedding flash mob performing Marry You by Bruno Mars, it is a very special scene on their wedding video highlights clip

Wedding In Thurles Cathedral
Lisheen Castle Moyne Tipperary for wedding photos

There is something about a castle as a location for wedding photos Lisheen Castle has been beautifully restored and is now  a luxury rental vacation property in the heart of Tipperary. I’m reliably informed that small intimate family weddings can take place at the castle.
Denise and Paul made their way to the castle grounds for for video and photo shoot,  the grounds are a credit the owners it was my first visit to this hidden gem in the heart of Tipperary, I’m looking forward to many more visits in the future.

The couple received a rousing reception from family and friends as they entered the Anner Hotel, for me as a wedding supplier its very comforting to see how well Deirdre Crowe and staff are dealing with with covid restrictions, everything  done to the letter of the law.
Thanks to Denise and Paul for choosing me as their wedding videographer and also for allowing their wedding to be shared on social media.

December Wedding In Thurles Cathedral

Thurles in Co. Tipperary  is known as the home of hurling and rightly so because it is where the GAA was founded.  On the November 1st 1884 Michael Cusack and seven other men had a meeting in Hayes Hotel and founded the Gaelic Athletic Association.
Since 1879 Thurles Cathedral has been the choice of wedding ceremony venue  by so  many  couples  I suppose it could be best described as the home of weddings in Tipperary.

Sinead and Diarmuid’s Wedding Video

December 30th 2016  was a rather unseasonal day for the time of year, the sun was shining  it was very calm and not a drop of rain to be seen, conditions were ideal for shooting great video footage.
The video begins with coverage of Sinead and girls preparing for the big event, Sinead was getting ready in her parents house which is situated on the Holycross Road about 10 minutes from Thurles Town.
When I arrived  the Bridal Preps were in full swing, Mum and Dad were playing their part in helping  to get the bride to the church on time, the expressions on their face  was proof   of  the pride and emotion that they were feeling  right then.
Sinead was a stunning bride she  is a tall girl with a perfect figure and apart form looking amazingly eloquent and beautiful  she was a really nice person to deal with both before and after the wedding.

Wedding In Castle Durrow

Cathedral Of The Assumption Thurles

I arrived at Thurles Cathedral about an hour before the ceremony allowing ample time to grab  footage of  the boys arriving, I was videographer for wedding of  Diarmuid’s  sister two years ago so it was nice to asked back to shoot yet another Purcell  family wedding.
The video highlights features the words of  a lovely reflection which was written by Diarmuid.  Sinead arrived almost on time for her 1pm appointment with  her husband  to be.
As Sinead’s Dad Tom  walked his beautiful daughter up the aisle his feeling of  pride must have been a wonderful ,  he was probably taking in the architecture of the historic building as they passed the huge pillars  of Cork and  Kilkenny  marble that flank both sides of the wide aisle.
The wedding ceremony was carried out by Fr. Gerard Hennessy it was a nice personal ceremony and we were out of the church within the hour.
One of the highlights of the wedding was the music by Anne Marie Dwan and vocals by the ever wonderful Marie Taylor, the music and lyrics  echoed in every corner of the historic cathedral.

Wedding Video Castle Durrow

Weddings At Castle Durrow

Castle Durrow  Country House Hotel was the wedding reception venue  it is located on the old Dublin – Cork Road  in the  village of Durrow, in Co Laois.
One of the best things about been a wedding videographer is that I get to visit so many fantastic wedding venues in Tipperary Kilkenny and Laoise, Castle Durrow is one of my personal favorites.
The large gardens and beautiful interiors provide the perfect backdrop for shooting high quality wedding videos.
Sinead and Diarmuid joined their guests for dinner at 6pm, the speeches were conducted after the meal,  while waiting for the speeches I took some time out in the bar restaurant and enjoyed a really beautiful meal.

Diarmuid and Sinead were a smashing couple to work with, they were very easygoing and relaxed, I had full permission to go ahead and do my own thing. My style of video recording is very much a fly on the wall approach, couples like this style because they are free to enjoy their big day without interruption from their  wedding videographer.

If you are currently in the process of wedding planning and are in two minds about hiring a wedding videographer, why not get in contact with  myself Eamon,  who will be more than happy to  chat to you about our range of beautiful  HD wedding video packages.

December 28th was a pleasant day, the sun was shining not a snowflake in sight it was difficult to believe that it was Christmas.
Laura and Thomas were blessed with the unseasonably mild dry weather, today I’m delighted to sharing  this beautiful highlight video of their special day.

Video coverage of the day began with  the ever popular bridal preps which took place at Laura’s parents house in Littleton, Thurles. I arrived at 11am which allowed ample time for generous coverage of the the excitement and fun that was unfolding before the video lens.

Thurles is  Tipperary’s “Cathedral Town”  and what better place to celebrate a Tipperary wedding than in The Cathedral of the Assumption Thurles.
As I dove through the gates the sun was shining brightly on the front of the Cathedral, wedding guest were in no panic about going indoors, in fact it looked and felt more like April than Christmas. Once inside the Cathedral there was no mistake about the time of year, beautiful Christmas candles and decorations added to the spender of Laura and Thomas’s  magical Christmas wedding day.

of the most popular Wedding Ceremony Venues in Tipperary it is also  one of the best in Munster.  The wedding of Peter Murphy & Ani Schlingloff is one of many Weddings In Thurles which have been recorded by Drangan Video during 2013.

Peter & Ani were one of the most easy going couples that i have worked with in recent times, their instructions to me on the day were simple “just do your own thing”.  October 5th 2013 was a beautiful sunny day the long hot summer was reluctant  to bid farewell,  Peter & Ani went for the Gold Video Package which is one of 5 Wedding Packages on offer from Drangan Video.  The camera shoot began with Ani and the girls preparing for the 1pm ceremony in Thurles Cathedral,   I arrived early at Ani’s house  about 11am just in good time to capture the fun and excitement of the Bridal preparations which were already  in full swing.

The Cathedral of the Assumption Thurles  is a magnifficent wedding Ceremony Venue  and its easy to understnd why its eagerly  sought after by Brides in Thurles and Tipperary.  The cathedral  many beautiful features, including an impressive rose window, a free-standing baptistry and a magnificent altar. The prize possession of the cathedral is its exquisite tabernacle, the work of Giacomo dello Porta (1537-1602), a pupil of Michelangelo. This tabernacle, which belonged to the Gesú (Jesuit) Church in Rome, was purchased by Archbishop Leahy and transported to Thurles.  The cathedral was extensively renovated and the sanctuary sympathetically remodelled on the occasion of its centenary in 1979.

Ani & Peter decided to cross the border into Kilkenny for their Wedding Reception,  the Kilkenny River Court Hotel is renowned throughout the South East for it’s  dedication to customer care and their attention to detail making it  the ideal South East wedding venue for Weddings In Kilkenny and for Brides In Munster.
