The Cashel Palace Hotel

In June of 2017 we learned that the historic Cashel Palace Hotel was to undergo redevelopment under the investment of the Magnier Family (of Coolmore Stud) and Teo Ah King a Chinese business tycoon. This announcement was welcomed throughout the county of Tipperary and will be a huge boost to the local economy and wedding industry. For those of you who have recently gotten engaged and are hoping to celebrate your big day in 5* luxury, we imagine the Cashel Palace Hotel will be THE venue that ticks all the boxes.

Cashel Palace Hotel New Wedding Venue

According to latest reports, the hotel is set to reopen in late 2019, this may seem like a long wait, but I’d put money on the fact that it will be worth it!

The plans for the hotel include 60 luxuriously appointed bedrooms, 2 onsite restaurants, a hotel bar, world class leisure centre and of course a function room that will no doubt play host to the most wonderful celebrations this country has ever seen. The project also looks to reinstate the renowned ‘Bishops Walk’ and will include a 3-acre town park, which we are really excited to learn more about.

About the site:
The Palace itself was originally built in the 1730’s and features a breath-taking Queen Anne and early Georgian architectural design. Before they moved to Waterford, the building was initially the home of the Church of Ireland Archbishops. Cashel Palace is situated on a 25-acre site and the grounds lie adjacent to the world famous Rock of Cashel which, can be accessed from the hotel grounds via one of the private gardens.

The hotel ceased trading in 2014 and was purchased by John Magnier in 2016 for 2.25 million Euros. The original resort consisted of the Bolton Library, the coach house and a gate lodge and we really can’t wait to see how these have been preserved to fit in with the new renovations.

Famous Faces at the Cashel Palace Hotel.

Over the decades, the Cashel Palace has played host to some of Hollywood’s elite as well as US dignitaries, world leaders and politicians. Some of the most notable visits were by Ronald Reagan, Richard Burton, Jacqueline Kennedy and Elizabeth Taylor. The hotels’ association with excellence has always been its selling point and we have no doubt that they will strive to keep with this tradition in the future.

Wedding Video Supplier Rankings in Tipperary/Munster

I think it is fair to say that Weddings in Ireland despite the the ongoing recession are at an all-time high,a which is great news for Wedding Suppliers in Munster, Kilkenny and Tipperary.

As a wedding Videographer In Tipperary I am glad to say that business is good. It is amazing how Wedding Videographery has changed over the years, cameras are only half the size compared to the big shoulder cams which were in use 15 years ago or so, and picture quality is so much better now. The style of Wedding Video Production is also much different now ,  gone is the 3 hour long boring Video Tape  containing the full priest’s homily and maybe an hour of dancing at the end, today a typical Wedding DVD will be  well under 2 hrs in length. Camera style and technique will vary between  Videographers but all will be shooting footage that contains lots of camera movement and shots of the same  subject from a varioty of interesting angles.  All professional  Wedding Videographers will be using two Cameras for the ceremony and speeches.

www.dranganvideo.com  is doing really well in Google Rankings  we are well up there on the first page from a Google Search for a Wedding Videographer In Tipperary, Waterford, Kilkenny, Limerick, Carlow or Munster.

Drangan Video is now offering  5 individual Wedding Video Packages  ranging in price from €400 for the Ceremony Packageb to €925 for the Diamond Package.  The Diamond Package provides coverage of the full day to include  Bridal Preparations in the morning  up to 11pm that evening, and I do stay until 11am and will always check out with the Bride & Groom or members of the Bridal Party before leaving, I have been reliably  informed by hotel management and bands about certain Wedding Videographers who slip away after one or two dances when the Bride & Groom are out of sight this is very sly &  dishonest to say the least.

Wedding In Thurles, Cathedral

Michelle O’ Halloran and John Lawlor celebrated their Wedding in Thurles Cathedral on December 28th 2012 it was a lovely seasonal Wedding. The day was cold and windy so needless to say all the Wedding Video Footage was captured indoors.

The Wedding Video begins with Michelle and the Bridesmaids getting ready at Michelle’s parents house in Thurles, an open fire and Christmas tree helped to enhance the Video Footage with a festive theme. Thurles Cathedral  boasts two ornate and matching side altars with statues of the Sacred Heart and Our Lady, the work of noted Italian sculptor, Benzoni.  In the sanctuary ceiling there is a beautiful painting of Our Lady Assumed into Heaven.   Eight tower bells, three Roman arched doorways,  an organ dating back to 1826, holy water fonts from the Big Chapel and numerous impressive outdoor statues are all noteworthy feature of the cathedral. Thurles Cathedral is a fantastic Tipperary Wedding Ceremony Venue and is well known by Wedding Videographers in Thurles, Cashel and the general Tipperary area.

Michelle & John enjoyed their Wedding Reception in the Anner Hotel Thurles, which is popular choice by Tipperary Brides and Munster Brides. The Wedding Photography was provided by Mcmahons Ballyporeen The music was provided by the wonderful Paddies

Tipperary/Kilkenny Wedding

Here is a clip from a Wedding in Drangan, co Tipperary. Drangan is my home Village hence the name Drangan Video

Mairead Britton and Larry Doyle celebrated their Wedding in Drangan Church on September 21st 2012. The Wedding Video begins with the bridal preparations at Maireads home which is situated between Drangan & Mullinahone.  Shane O’ Neill of Aspect Photographery was a pleasure to work with and his work  speaks for itself.  Hotel Kilkenny was the Wedding Reception Venue.

Upon entering hotel Kilkenny you immediately feel the wonderfully warm atmosphere. Your eye is instantly drawn to the wonderful Italian marble floors adorned by larger than life furniture pieces which include a giant purple chair and an ever-elegant pink chaiselong. Mairead & Larry entertained almost 300 guests in The Skyline Suite which is a stunning room that caters for between 220 to 400 people and offers unrivalled spectacular views of Kilkenny’s cityscape.

It is always great to record Local Wedding Videos, in Drangan, Cashel, Fethard and Clonmel. Wishing Larry & Mairead all the best for the future.
