Winter wedding videos in Tipperary

This year we are delighted to be filming wedding videos in our home county of Tipperary as well as Cork, Kilkenny and Limerick. With the weather as wonderful as it has been throughout the Autumn it is indeed looking promising for a white Christmas (according to the experts and a certain Donegal postman). What more could a bride and groom wish for at that time of the year, we will certainly be keeping all our fingers and toes crossed for you here at Drangan Video.

Christmas Weddings 2016

If you and your intended are lucky enough to be getting married during Christmas of 2016, we would like to wish you the happiest of days and remember we still have some last-minute slots available for bookings if you are still undecided about hiring a videographer for your big day.

We are asked quite often what makes a Christmas wedding special, and the answer is quite simple; the same thing that makes every wedding special. Regardless of the time of year, the weather or the location, a wedding between two people who love each other dearly will always be a special day to remember.

For those of you who are tying the knot this December, here are some tips you may find useful on the lead up to your big day:

  1. Pack umbrellas in the trunk of the best mans car – they will most likely come in useful at some stage during the day.
  2. Send an email to all your guests in the days leading up to the wedding with a link to the weather forecast for the date of the wedding – you can never be too prepared!
  3. Think about providing some wraps, throws or blankets in any outdoor seating areas for your guests.
  4. Ask the hotel to decorate a tree specifically for your reception room and provide a bauble for each guest to sign and hang on the tree – wonderful keepsakes for you and your spouse.
  5. Consider eggnog, mulled wine or another seasonal drinks in place of champagne or wine for your guests as they arrive at the hotel.
  6. Save on floral and décor costs by asking the venue to simply leave the Christmas decorations in place for the day.

Amazing Tipperary Wedding Singer Video Show-Reel

It is amazing how those first few notes of a song or a pice of music can take you back to a certain time in your life resulting in a lump in the throat or a tear in your eye. This is why the choice of music and the vocalist for your wedding ceremony is so important.
Andrea Ruth-Houlihan is now the  first choice of wedding singer for weddings in Tipperary, Kilkenny and many other counties, I am delighted to be sharing her latest promotional show reel video which was recorder and produced by Drangan Video.

Your wedding day will be filled with many happy memories and emotions, the ceremony itself is a very emotional part of the day, walking up the aisle to meet your new husband to be, those shaky hands while lighting the marriage candles, singing the register and finally walking down the aisle as Mr and Mrs. These are very special and memorable moments, one way of making them more special and memorable is your choice of wedding singer and music.

Andrea Ruth – Houlihan  Professional  Wedding Singer.
Andrea is based in Clonmel Co. Tipperary she is  much sough after  for weddings in Tipperary, Kilkenny, Limerick and Waterford she is also happy to accept bookings from any county, distance is not a problem. My association with Andrea stretches back more than a decade, she has played leading parts in many musicals and shows staged by  St. Mary’s Choral Socitey Clonmel, I had the pleasure  of been the official videographer for those productions over the last 10 years.

Including Nature in your Wedding Day

The beauty about getting married in counties such as Tipperary, Kilkenny, Carlow or Waterford  is that you are always surrounded by nature, scenic views and a unique heritage. The same of course is true for all counties in Ireland, so why not make the most of the wonderful land we live in by making it an integral part of your big day.

Nature-inspired wedding décor adds such a unique touch to weddings. We’ve seen brides and grooms across the country incorporate nature into their wedding décor with simply breath-taking results.

There are so many different ways that you can incorporate elements of nature into your big day, here are some of the more unique elements we have witnessed while filming weddings throughout the country!

Carved Initials

Seeing love-struck Initials carved onto tree bark is one of the oldest and most iconic symbols of love in the modern world, so, why not incorporate something similar into your wedding day?

On one occasion we were delighted to witness that the bride and groom had their initials carved onto pieces of wood, which were heart-shaped, and then used to decorate the tables at the their wedding.

What a wonderful way to incorporate natural elements and even more romance into your wedding day!

Gilded Fruit Centrepieces

Fruit can make for a wonderful centrepiece all on its own, but if you want to make it even more extravagant, choose some metallic spray paints, and spray the fruit for a romantic touch. Gilded fruit looks absolutely beautiful at the centre of a wedding table. If you want the fruit to be more than just a centrepiece, opt for edible paint so that the guests can tuck in at any stage of the day or night

Wooden Table Numbers

When you have a sizeable guest list it makes sense to have your tables numbered or named so that every guest can easily find where they are sitting. Why not give your table numbers or names a touch of the outdoors and have them carved from a special piece of stone or wood? Guest names can also be etched onto pebbles from your favourite beach or placed with posies from your own garden.

Decorated Tree Branches

Tree branches, twigs and ferns can make a wonderful addition to the décor of your wedding. Consider placing tree branches in a tall cylinder vase, and add some fresh flowers alongside it to create a dramatic centrepiece. Scatter some tea lights to further enhance the outdoor theme.

There are so many ways in which you can incorporate nature into your big day, choose plants or features that are personal to you and your intended, perhaps items that tell some part of your very own story.

Christmas Wedding in Lyrath Estate Hotel Kilkenny

This is one of my many Christmas Weddings recorded in 2013. Mary Halpin & Tomás Mc Auliffe were married on December 30th 2013 in St John the Evangelist

Weddings Lyrath Estate Hotel
Weddings Lyrath Estate Hotel

Church, Kilkenny, followed by their wedding Reception in Lyrath Estate Hotel Kilkenny. This is the highlights clip from the wedding DVD, very nice. Mary & Tomás received this  highlight clip by email shortly after they had returned to Australia, the DVDS duly arrived later by post.

The camera shoot began in the Bridal Suite at Lyrath at 11am which allowed one hour before heading down to St. John’s Church to capture the boys arriving.  Tomás is a native of Limerick and Mary is from Dublin they are currently living in Australia, I suppose planning a wedding from another country is considered that little  bit more difficult, it was a really well planned wedding and a very enjoyable day for bride & groom, family and friends. St. John’s Church is one of the most popular wedding Ceremony Venues in Kilkenny, if you are considering having your ceremony there it is advisable to book well in advance of your preferred wedding date.  St John’s Catholic Parish consists of a city area and two rural areas, Dunmore and Johnswell – each with its own church. The main church, St John’s, is situated opposite MacDonagh Shopping Centre and the Railway Station on the Dublin Road (N77).
The parish is administered by the priests who form the Parish Leadership Team, and by the Parish Pastoral Council, made up of priests and lay people working together for the spiritual and material good of all members of the parish.  As a Wedding Videographer from Tipperary i sometimes feel in awe of the fantastic selection of Churches In Kilkenny, beautiful old buildings which are steeped in history.

Nick O’ Keeffe was the photographer for the day  it was a pleasure meeting and working with him again, we have shot lots of Weddings In Tipperary and Kilkenny  over the last few years. Nick was the 2013 Weddingsonline Wedding Photographer of the year, his work is amazing and he is a lovely guy to have on board on your wedding day. We always recommend each other for weddings in Kilkenny and other counties.  Lyrath Estate Hotel was the Reception venue it is just one of many super wedding venues in Kilkenny.   Lyrath Estate Hotel provides you with the ultimate Kilkenny wedding venue.  An amazing picturesque setting coupled with the expertise and professionalism of their management team and staff, guarantees your wedding guests a uniquely memorable experience. Weddings at the Lyrath Estate Hotel Kilkenny are a speciality. With fine cuisine as their trade mark, a tantalizing mouth watering experience is always guaranteed on your wedding day.

Wedding Video Lyrath Kilkenny
Wedding Video Lyrath Kilkenny

The perfect Wedding Hotel in Kilkenny. Lyrath’s 17th century house has been immaculately and lovingly restored for magical weddings. Combined with new additions, this creates a perfect marriage between a bygone era and the present day. No matter how traditional or contemporary your Wedding Day, Lyrath Estate Hotel provides it all in one of the most unique wedding venues in Kilkenny. Lyrath alows a wedding videographer to explore every vantage point to capture those pure and magical moments, amid rolling hills, tranquil lakes and unspoilt views, I just love everything about Lyrath and Im looking forward to shooting numerous wedding videos over the coming months.

As I finish writing this post the April sunshine is beaming in through my studio window, Christmas 2013 seems like a distanct memory, the day that Mary & Tomás were married was showery, cold and windy but thank God we got some lovely footage between the showers. I enjoyed recording and working with Tomás & Mary on the day, they are a smashing couple and i am delighted to hear that they are very happy with the finished production.

Thanks for  reading my latest post.
