Advantages Of Having A Small Wedding

Weddings are undergoing huge changes regarding guest numbers due to complience  with Covid restrictions, I have been videographer for many smaller weddings over the past few weeks its great to be back at work again and embracing the new wedding normal.

Kilkenny Videographer

My most recent couple Sinéad and James enjoyed a lovely day last weekend, it was a Kilkenny Cork match with a Tipperary connection, the father of the bride is from Tipp living in Kilkenny.  The wedding ceremony took place in Tullaroan church a small number of family and guests attended the ceremony embracing the new social distancing rules. The weather was fab photographer Ben Power set up up some lovely outdoor shots in and around Johns Bridge in Kilkenny City.
Sinéad & James had been planning and looking forward to their big day for for the almost two years, the plan was to have a bigger wedding but because of the new restitctions on numbers they had to go for smaller numbers. Like so many couples Sinéad & James had thought about putting off the wedding untill 2021 or 2022, they eventually decided to hold out and go ahead with the original date.
They have no regrets it was a fab wedding smaller numbers with the atmosphere  of a big wedding. Thanks Sinead & James for choosing me as your wedding videographer.

Advantages of having a small wedding

Big weddings are quite expensive and are stressful to organize, so why not consider cutting back your guest list to just close family and a few special friends. Cutting down on numbers  means that you will save a considerable amount on your wedding reception. If you are on a tight budget this is the right option for you. You can still choose an upmarket venue with all the trimmings but without the 200 guests

Easier to organize a small wedding
The main benefits of a small celebration is stress free wedding planning, much less drama, less decisions to make. Its nice to have happy memories  of your  pre-wedding activities such as having fun and chatting with your bridesmaids and shopping for the wedding dress

Spend big on things that are important for you

Now that you have decided celebrate your special day with fewer guests you will be able to get the most from your wedding budget. Why not spend the extra  money saved on a fab wedding menu, top class wedding videographer (that would be Drangan Video) your favourite photographer or a  popular  wedding band.

Enjoy a more personal wedding celebration.
Whether you prefer finger food with drinks  or a sit down meal, a small wedding allows you to create a personal and relaxed atmosphere where you can chat and mingle with all of your guests. This allolws you to be able to enjoy your wedding celebration  and not feel stressed about trying to meet every single one of 200 guests, just sit back relax and enjoy each others company.

Larger choice of wedding venues for small weddings
If you are planning on having a large wedding  you will have a smaller choice  of venues that can host  larger groups,  if your guest numbers are small  then you will have many more options including restaurants, bars, Cafes,  wineries and outdoor venues. You will have less tables to decorate, so why not splash out on eye catching wedding centerpieces, floral arrangements and DIY projects.
Making  your own wedding invitations would be a huge task if you are inviting 200 guests.  A small  wedding  makes it easier to do DIY projects  so you can really add your creative talents to the whole event.

Planning a wedding can be a most wonderful experience, so it’s important to try to reduce any stress and enjoy every moment. It is with this in mind that we have put together a checklist for you to follow as you start your journey into married life.

Choosing a venue and settling on a date:
One of the very first things you need to do when planning for your big day is choosing a date. For many couples this will go hand in hand with choosing a venue. Make a shortlist of venues that you want to speak with or arrange a viewing for and have an idea of the dates you would like prior to meeting with them. If your favourite venue is not available on the date you would like, then you still have the opportunity to move things around.

Booking the Ceremony:
If you are planning on having the ceremony and the reception in two different venues, it is important that you move fast to ensure you secure availability on the same date. Most venues will be flexible with dates until you sign your contract, so work closely with both the reception venue and the ceremony venue until you have both locations secured.

Choosing your Bridal/Grooms Party:
If you have decided to have a best man and maid of honour, it’s important that you ask them as early in the process as possible. Any bridesmaids, groomsmen, paige boys and flower girls should also be notified as early as possible to ensure these special people are available on your big day.

Top Quality Beautiful Wedding Videos In Tipperary

About Drangan Video
In this blog post I would like to take the opportunity to tell you a bit about our services, the areas we cover, the methods we use and of course cover some of the reasons why you should choose Drangan Video as your wedding videography provider.
Based in Drangan, Co. Tipperary, I (Eamon) founded Drangan Video in 1995 as a professional wedding videography business. It has always been a belief of mine, that if you are going to offer a service, you should do so with the utmost commitment and drive.  My love of videography has never waned over this time and to be honest I still look forward to each and every wedding I have the pleasure of filming. Over these past 11 years, Drangan Video has gone from strength to strength, technology has changed massively and some trends have come full circle. I pride myself greatly on keeping up to date with all the latest equipment, videography trends and modern techniques as well as constantly delivering high quality wedding videos for each and every customer.

Because Drangan Video is a full time business for me and not a part-time job or hobby, I find that I am able to dedicate all of the precious time that is needed to provide a truly great service and end product.

There are a number of key points that separate Drangan Video from the vast competition that is available in today’s market:

1: Professional Editing – Here at Drangan Video I not only shoot all wedding videos myself, I also edit every minute of video before delivery to my clients. Many wedding videographers will outsource this important task to an editing company, as they do not have the skills within their own business to do so competently. By providing this editing service, I am able to oversee all aspects of your most important wedding video and can guarantee quality each and every time.

  1. Attention to Detail – I am a full-time wedding videographer and editor, which means I can dedicate all of my time to achieving perfection just for you.

  1. Transparency – You the customer, can view my portfolio of work at any time, allowing you to see deliverables for yourself before you make that all important decision. Wedding videos are available to view right here on the website any time or alternatively pop over to Facebook and catch a glimpse of sample videos, reviews and testimonials left by very happy customers.

Discretion – The approach I take to videography means, I will never intrude upon your big day. I do not set up any posed shoots, nor do I instruct the bride and groom or any of the wedding party during the day. When you choose Drangan Video to film your wedding you can be assured of a service that in no way interrupts the flow of your very special day.

Traditional First Dance or something a little bit Different?

Over the past number of years  we have seen a huge change in the way newly-weds approach the first dance, some of these have been worthy of YouTube and Facebook fame and as a wedding videographer they  have been an absolute joy  to shoot. Whether you are getting married in Kilkenny or Tipperary, Cork or Limerick we would be absolutely honoured to be your wedding videographer  and capture this very special dance on your big day!

In this wedding blog post we are going to talk a little bit about how the landscape of the first dance has changed and how some of the most wonderful new traditions are starting to emerge from this trend.

For those of you who prefer a more traditional wedding dance, we would urge you not to feel pressured into providing an entertaining dance if this is something you are not comfortable with. It’s really not for everyone and in all circumstances the traditional first dance in the way you feel most comfortable is absolutely wonderful to watch and in our case also to record on wedding video.

We first started to notice the trend for non-traditional wedding dances emerging in Ireland about 10 years ago when YouTube videos seemed to be popping up every other day. This trend seems to have started in the US and it really wasn’t very long before brides and grooms in Tipperary, Kilkenny  and all over  the country started adding their own imaginative twists to both their first dance and the wedding ceremonies.

If you and your intended have decided that you would like to try something a little bit different for your first dance and are unsure of where to start. We would recommend looking first in your local area to see if there are any dance instructors in the locale that can give you some tips and advise you on some nifty dance moves you can do for your chosen song.

Looking for inspiration? You probably won’t go far wrong by looking through the thousands of videos available on YouTube or Vimeo and checking out some of the more varied dances others have done before you.

The very first thing you should do though is probably choose the song you would like to dance to. Then think about who you would like to involve in the routine, perhaps you would just like it to be you and your new husband or wife or maybe you would like to include the whole bridal party or individuals from the guest list?

Don’t forget to practice! Most importantly, you’re going to need to organise a rehearsal schedule with all participants and make sure everyone involved has the time to commit to learning the dance routine.

Enjoy yourself – This is the key to all of the best first dances. Enjoy the moment and only do what you and your new spouse feel comfortable with, soak up the atmosphere around you and truly immerse yourself in this very first dance as a married couple.

Here at Drangan Video we would be absolutely honoured to get your first dance on video for you to enjoy time and time again. Speak to Eamon here any time to get an idea of how a professionally shot wedding video can become an integral part of your big day. Plus, you’ll get to sit back, relax and enjoy your choreographed first dance in the comfort of your own home or with friends and family, what could be better?
