We have been chatting with lots couples over the past six weeks regarding wedding planning post covid lockdown, the question of should we have a big or small wedding is a popular topic.

Should we have a big or small wedding
When married couples hear that a friend has popped the question and are are in the process of wedding planning they smile knowingly about all the hard work that is ahead of them. Planning a wedding is very exciting but very hard work, just deciding on the dress you have to think about whether you want the most modern design or a more traditional wedding dress, and then the big question are you going to splash out on a big wedding or a smaller more personal celebration with families and very close friends.
Small weddings work well because you’ll have more time with family and friends you won’t have to greet 250 guests outside the church door which can take an hour from your day, instead you can mingle with individual guests at different times during the day at the reception venue. This is worth thinking about because having guests are why you wanted to have a wedding in the first place you wanted to share the most important day in your life with the people you love. But If you want to invite lots of people the big wedding is the the way to go, you can invite who want and don’t have to spend hours looking at the guest lists wondering how you can possibly cut it down. Everyone can dance a lot at a big gathering this is a really good reason for having a big wedding if dancing is something that matters a lot to you.

Many couples are comfortable with a small wedding because they can have it at a venue like a restaurant where everyone can sit down chill and eat. If you are having 70 people or less say closer to 30, that amount of people might look lost in a huge venue, It may seem like you have almost no one there which would be disappointing considering all time and effort put into planning your big day
You’ll want to remember your big day.
Here at Drangan Video So many of our couples remark about how the whole is a blur, they enjoyed their wedding day but they can’t pick out any special moments from it. That’s not exactly what you want, one advantage of a small wedding is that you can relax and enjoy the whole experience instead of being distracted by so many guests around you all day.

Believe it or not the job of creating a smaller guest list can be pretty stressful, differing opinions can crop up between the bride and groom, each of whom may have small or large families or huge circles of friends who they are having trouble trimming down. Big weddings are good for avoiding arguments about the guest list, you’ll know that you’re both inviting as many people as you want to, anway who wants to chawing the rag while planning the most special day in your life
A Small Wedding Could Make People Unhappy
A small wedding could upset people in your life, friends and family members may not understand your reason for having a smaller, more intimate gathering you may find yourself answering questions as to why certain people were omitted from the guest list, that doesn’t sound like a good position to be in.
The real question is, what kind of wedding do you really want ? What is your gut feeling ? There is for and against big and small weddings our advice is to go what your heart is telling you.
