Aisling O’ Dwyer and Liam Heffernan celebrated their wedding ceremony with family and close friends in Knockmoylan Church Kilkenny , followed by and intimate wedding reception in Hotel Kilkenny.
Here at Drangan Video we have been very busy since restrictions were eased allowing 25 guests to attend weddings, Aisling & Liam had their wedding video booked well in advance they had planned on having 180 guests but like so many other couples they had to cut their list to just a fraction of that.
The day began with a visit to Aisling’s parents house to cover the the bridal preps, followed by a lovely ceremony in Knockmoylan Kilkenny. Aisling and Liam really embraced the new wedding normal they had so much spare time for chatting to their guests, they described their day as been much more meaningful than a big wedding celebration.

Looking Ahead To Kilkenny / Tipperary Weddings In 2021
The past few months have been a worrying time for those planning on getting married in 2021 the present health situation presents couples with new challenges, we have picked up a few tips from recent weddings in Tipperary, Kilkenny, Waterford and other locations.
The usual hugging and kissing is not taking place, guests are doing a friendly wave or an elbow to elbow greeting. Setting up a personal wedding website for your big day is a great way of providing information and advice for your guests.

Hair and Makeup Artists:
Theses are two very important suppliers that we work with, they are so careful about attention to detail in making sure that sponges and brushes etc. are fully sterilized. Hair and makeup artists work in very close proximity to the bridal party its vital that they wear masks.
The Wedding Ceremony:
The handshake or sign of peace is not advised under current restrictions, also every second pew in a church is blocked off with yellow tape to prevent close contact, for a civil or humanist ceremony the same rules apply.
If you are planning a humanist or civil ceremony you might have a chance of having it outside in the fresh air which would be safer than an indoor ceremony.

Here at Drangan Video we have seen at first hand the changes around church weddings in Tipperary & Kilkenny some have no communion at the the mass, others have communion where the guests remain seated and the celebrant comes down to each phew.
The traditional greeting line is dropped, guests are happy to give the couple a friendly wave from a safe distance, I had a wedding in Tipperary last week with the couple getting straight into the car after walking down the aisle.
The Wedding Venue:
Wedding venues like Hotel Kilkenny are really pulling out all the stops with safety action plans in place to keep everyone safe, the hotels that we have been working in over the past few months are doing an incredible job, with temperature checks on arrival, foot pedal hand sanitizers and social distance notices on floors. Hotels are allowing plenty of space for guests to stay spread out at the drinks reception, they are also serving food in individual portions at the drinks reception, speeches are now taking place before the meal which works well for the videography.
