As a wedding videographer based in Tipperary I am always thrilled when asked to film weddings in my home town of Fethard, this weeks blog post features the wedding of Eimear Gahan and Brian Egan a Mullinahone/Fethard union.
My day began with a visit to Brian’s parent’s house in Mullinahone situated between Fethard and Kilkenny not far from the black and amber border. It was a fun start to the day some great cheeky shots of the boys getting ready, a sneak view of a not so worried groom writing his wedding speech “cutting it fine”, its only 11am and the boys are ready for a 1pm start which was great timing, “no pressure girls”.
My next port of call was to Eimear’s parent’s house on the outskirts of the historical walled town of Fethard, Eimear and the girls were not as well organized as the boys, they seemed to be showing signs of pre wedding pressure it was a very busy house the sent of hairspray and nail varnish was intoxicating it was all hands on deck in getting the bride to the church on time.

Over the years I have shot numerous wedding videos in Fethard the parish church stands on an elevated site overlooking the busy main street, the town is steeped in history. For a small, quiet town fording the Clashawley River in South Tipperary, Fethard boasts a huge number of medieval ruins. A good portion of its original 14th-century town walls remain intact, and its 2km heritage trail takes about an hour to complete.
Coolmore Stud is based in Fethard, County Tipperary it is considered to be the largest stud farm in the world. Drangan Video is based very close to the massive farm which is great landmark when directing callers to my video studio. The huge farm consists of close to 7,000 acres of prime land, it is a fabulous set up and provides huge employment in our local area here in South Tipperary.
Eimear & Brian’s wedding was a wonderful occasion, incredibly well planned lots of fun and romantic video moments I was thrilled to have been their wedding videographer. After the ceremony we made our way to the well manicured convent grounds which are situated to the rear of the parish church, we shot some really nice video footage of the bridal party as they strolled around the gardens.
Then for the perfect finish to the perfect day, our final stop was the The Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel which is Kilkenny’s premiere, 4 star city centre Hotel; a dazzling jewel in a remarkable city. As a wedding videographer I am well acquainted with this superior Kilkenny wedding venue and looking forward to many more memorable wedding receptions in Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel.
Wishing Eimear & Brian all the very best for the years ahead, thanks also the them for allowing their wedding video highlights to be shared on my drangan video twitter and facebook pages.
Lots more Tipperary wedding news soon.
Regards Eamon.
