I recently had the pleasure of been videographer for the wedding of Catriona and Eugene in Freshford, Kilkenny. The camera coverage began at Catriona’s parents house which was only a 5 min drive from St. Lachtons Church on the village square.
It was a beautiful day with an abundance of warm April sunshine shining on the busy village of Freshford which is constructed around a large green tree lined square, we used the square for the family photos after the ceremony.
The video clip contains some cool shots of Catriona preparing for the day, I captured a very special moment as the radiant bride greeted her emotional parents and family in the front hallway, ” first look for Mum & Dad”.
After the wedding ceremony we assembled on the village square for the family photos which were captured by local wedding photographer Terry Campion, the sun was beaming down it was an ideal setting for video and photos.

After the family photos the bridal party made their way to Upper Court Manor known locally as ” Upper Court. It is the perfect venue for capturing colorful interesting wedding video footage. The house was built in 1790 by a Sir William Morris, the estate was then purchased more recently by Surgeon Paul O’ Byrne and a huge amount of of restoration work has been carried out on the house. The property consists of 34 acres, a walled orchard and a “Loop walk” which will take you around the beautiful Kilkenny village of Freshford.
We stopped of Kavangh’s Pub the square Freshford for a well deserved drink by a thirsty bridal party, the pub is owned by famous Kilkenny hurler Michael Kavanagh and Tipperary folks are more than welcome by Michael and staff.
Our final stop was the ever famous Newpark Hotel Kilkenny, an excellent choice by Catriona & Eugene, it is one of my favorite wedding reception venues in Kilkenny. The speeches were conducted before the meal and dancing commenced on time which is testament to the very efficient Newpark management and staff.
Catriona & Eugene have received their wedding DVD and are very happy with the final production, I received a nice text from the happy couple expressing their gratitude for a jod well done. Catriona has also giving permission to have the clip shared on my Drangan Video facebook page.
It was a pleasure to have been Catriona Eugene’s wedding videographer it was a lovely wedding, they were a smashing couple to work with I just did my own thing on the day all very easygoing and relaxed I am delighted with the end product.
More Kilkenny wedding news soon.
Regards Eamon.
