Bathroom Baskets for your Wedding Venue

If you are in the process of planning your wedding day there are  certain things that  you will like to know, and  there are  many things that you will need to know.
In my role as a  wedding videographer I am lucky to attend my fair share of weddings in Tipperary, Kilkenny, Waterford  and many other counties. From speaking to couples all over the length and breath of Ireland  I have picked up lots of tips about wedding planning.

Is your  wedding day  all about you ?  broadly speaking the answer is yes but if you’ve been a guest at a wedding you’ll realize  the importance  of looking after your wedding guests and making it a memorable day for them also.
You’ve invited all your friends and relations  to be part of the most important  day of your life, so you want to make sure they have a day to remember also.  Here is one way  of making your guests happy on your big day

Wedding Bathroom Basket

Bathroom Baskets for your Wedding Venue – what to include :

Over the past ten years there has without doubt, been an increased focus on guests requirements when planning for the big day. We now rarely attend any weddings that do not cater for their guests with little extras that make the day so much more comfortable for all attending. With this in mind we have compiled a checklist of little extras you can put together for your family and friends. These hampers can be left in the gents and ladies bathrooms, and should be checked on by venue staff throughout the night to make sure stocks are replenished as needed.

Ladies Bathroom Basket for your Wedding

In the ladies bathroom basket or hamper, there should be a whole range of possibilities for your guests to choose from. In this article we are going to list some of the more popular options and advise on some little extras that you won’t see anywhere else.

Toiletries
On a day when all the ladies in your company will want to be looking their very best, toiletries are a must-have at all times of the day. Your bathroom basket should include some if not all of the following:

Wet wipes
Dry shampoo
Toothpaste and disposable toothbrushes
Perfume
Deodorant
Cotton buds
Tissues
Feminine products

Hair care products

Whilst many women will have had their hair done professionally that morning, it is important to supply some backup products for later on in the festivities when the original hairstyles may be starting to wane.

Hair brushes / combs
Hair Spray
Bobby pins
Hair ties
Helpful Extras
Your female guests will truly appreciate any extras you include that make them feel comfortable at all hours of the day or night. Check out our list below of thoughtful extras that will have your guests singing your praises.

Flip-flops or slippers
Plasters
Party Feet
Clear nail varnish
Vaseline
Lint rollers
Safety pins
Mints
Scissors
Product samples to take away

For the Men

Most of the products listed above can also be included in the bathroom baskets you provide for the gents toilets. Make sure you include these extras to ensure the men are just as well looked after as the women throughout your celebrations.

Plasters
Safety Pins
Deodorant
Cologne
Hair gel / wax
Lint Brush
Mouthwash
Men’s flip-flops

If you are having a child-free wedding reception you can also include some more risqué items such as Rennies, aspirin or mini liquors. For those of you who will have children attending the venue, please make sure you omit anything that can be harmful to or inappropriate for a child from your wedding baskets. Little hands are happy to pick up anything that isn’t nailed down, so this should be an important consideration when planning your baskets.

Planning an After Wedding Party

More and more we are asked to provide Brides and Grooms with a quote for not just one day of filming but two, Ireland has embraced the ‘after wedding party’ and it looks like it’s here to stay!

So why should you consider a get together the night or day after your wedding?

It is with increasing regularity that we hear Brides and Grooms regret that they didn’t get enough time to spend with their guests on the big day and this is where the ‘after wedding party’ really comes into it’s own. On the day of your wedding you will no doubt do your best to mingle with everyone in the room, but it goes without saying that you will be very much in demand and it’s hard to spend time with everyone. Planning a get together for the day after makes for a much more relaxed affair and will give you the chance to thank each and every one of your guests in a more informal setting.

An After Wedding Party

So where should I have my After Wedding Party

There are a host of options open to you for your after wedding party and the best thing is you get to relax and enjoy it without having to worry about too much detailed planning.

• Many venues will offer you a second night of celebrations at a reduced rate, so it’s well worth bringing this up at the price negotiation stage. Remember, a second night of celebrating means quite a bit of profit for the establishment and it’s well worth haggling for a reduced rate.
• You could also consider hosting a get together in a local bar that you frequent as a couple on a regular basis. This informal setting will ensure both you and your guests are relaxed and can come and go at a time that suits everyone.
• A local restaurant is a great idea if you would like to thank your guests and family by treating them to an informal meal. Most small restaurants will allow you to bring your own wine and may be happy to waive any corkage fees in return for a large group booking. A great excuse to use up the last of the wine from the wedding day!
• If you are lucky enough to get married during the summer months and fancy taking your chances with the Irish weather, then you could organise a BBQ in your own home or in the grounds of a local club or hotel garden. Make sure there’s an indoor area though to cover all weather possibilities or consider hiring a marquee for the night.
