There’s More to Tipperary Than You May Think

Fantastic Venues Covered by Wedding Videographer in Tipperary
As a wedding videographer in Ireland, it is, perhaps, not surprising that I often find myself working in Tipperary.
Tipperary weddings are hugely popular, and rightly so! The historic 13th century architecture, nestled amongst the Galtee and Silvermine Mountains (to name just a few of Tipperary’s stunning landmarks), makes for spectacular scenery and breathtaking backdrops that look absolutely incredible in Tipperary wedding videos. But, believe it or not, there’s much more to Tipperary than meets the eye!

I’ve been working as a wedding videographer in Tipperary for many years now, and I’ve been lucky enough to shoot ceremonies, receptions, and video footage at some of the most jaw dropping wedding venues and backdrops in the area, including Holycross Abbey, the Rock of Cashel, and the beautiful Ormond Castle. However, my job as a wedding videographer in Tipperary also means that I’ve been given a fantastic opportunity to enjoy some of the
more unusual and offbeat local wedding venues, too.

Back to Nature in Tipperary
Tipperary brides are always glamorous, but they’re not afraid to get their hands dirty, either! I’ve chatted with a number of brides recently who want to include the natural beauty of Tipperary into their wedding day, not just with the scenery, but with the local wildlife, too! As a local wedding videographer, I’ve got good knowledge of the region, and for brides and grooms wanting to get back to nature I often recommend Tipperary’s very own Marlfield
Lake, where the wedding party – and their guests – can relax, unwind, and even feed the swans (don’t forget to pack some stale bread!) Wedding video shoots like this are always a nice way to let your hair down after the ceremony, before the bustling reception begins.

The Cool Waterfront Breeze
Of course, when you think of Tipperary weddings, you usually think of the mountains. There are many wedding venues in the area that offer spectacular mountain views for brides and grooms, such as the Ballykisteen Resort and the Aherlow House Hotel, but let’s not forget that we’re on the doorstep of Lough Derg, too! For something a little different, there’s a wonderful hotel situated right on the shoreline, the Coolbawn Quay, and you can even hire a lakeside pavilion for your wedding and chow down on BBQ in the clubhouse. Drangan video were recently at Coolbawn Quay to video the wedding of Noel and Aisling, and I was blown away by how far removed from other Tipperary weddings it was.

A Touch of Modern Luxury
The area’s history – and the fact that it has successfully retained that history – is one of the most wonderful things
about the county, and it’s why many brides and grooms choose Tipperary weddings. However, for those looking
for a touch of modern luxury, Tipperary can also tick all the boxes, if you know where to look! There’s a lot of talk
on the Tipperary wedding photographer grapevine at the moment about the 4* Hotel Minella which, although dating
from 1863, is a surprisingly modern wedding venue. Not only is the building itself quite up-to-date inside, with
en-suite hot tubs, a swimming pool, and full gymnasium, but a contemporary, mouthwatering hog roast is also on
the menu for wedding parties!

The Talented Tipperary
Regardless of your own personal wedding styles and preferences, I don’t think you can go wrong with Tipperary.  From church weddings to boutique hotel weddings, from lakeside weddings to mountain weddings, Tipperary offers pretty much anything you could dream of for your big day, and as a wedding videographer lucky enough to be working in the county regularly, I’ve had the honour to enjoy weddings at almost all of them! It’s a winner!
Getting married in Tipperary? What amazing venue have YOU chosen?

Story Of The Missing Ring

This is a short true story about an engagement ring that went missing on the morning of a wedding and turned up 6 hours later on the ground outside the door of wedding reception

venue. ” Hogwart Magic” ????

The wedding ceremony was in Hospital, Co. Limerick and reception in the Fitzgerarld Woodlands Hotel Adare, Limerick.  As usual my video recording began at the brides house which was a 20 min. drive from the church in Hospital  on arrival at the brides house the girls were in the usual excited mode, the sun was shining and everyone looking forward to the big event. During the morning the photographer and myself were busy capturing bits and bobs including jewelry and rings which were treasured by the Bride, her engagement ring was a particular beautiful and expensive one and of coarse very close to her heart. Bridal preps went very well everyone happy, Bride slightly nervous but looking forward to the day.

The wedding Ceremony was set for 1pm, we were a little bit surprised by the late arrival of the Bride and bridesmaids because they were all ready to go when the photographer and myself finished up at the house.  When the Bridesmaids arrived they announced that the Bride’s engagement ring had gone missing and after lots of frustrating searching it failed to turn up. The Bride was upset on arrival at the church but she decided to put it out her mind and  get on with the day  hopefully the ring would be found in due time.  After the ceremony some of the family returned to the house to search for the missing ring but alas no sign of it, in the meantime Bride & Groom photographer and myself stopped off at a wood on the way to Adare for photos and video footage, we also stopped off at another location where the couple were standing on a grassy bank, at this stage the Bride had put the missing ring more or less to back of her mind and anyway we were very busy with the photo and video shoot.

The Bride & Groom and bridal party arrived at the Woodlands Hotel Adare, Co.Limerick at 4:15pm,  they had done a car change outside the gates of the Woodlands, the Volkswagen Beatle that was used to transport the bride and her dad to church was already waiting when the arrived at the hotel gates. After pulling up at the door of the hotel the couple enjoyed a glass of bubbly and then made their way through the main doors to the reception lobby.  As we were doing the family and friends photos out in front of the hotel a family member walked over to the bride with an engagement ring in her hand and asked the bride ” is this your missing ring I found it on the ground just outside the front door of the hotel ”  the happy bride was was united with her engagement ring and she was over the moon with excitement.

The most likely  explanation  is that the ring had got attached to the brides dress in the morning as she was getting dressed, and it just happened to fall off the dress right outside the hotel door.  What an amazing narrow escape of ever finding the ring again, just thinks of all getting in and out of cars, the photo shoot in the woods, walking along that grassy bank and it was also a pretty breezy day.  The ring did not budge until arrival at the hotel door some 6 hours later.   A Very Happy Ending 🙂
