Fab Spring Wedding In Ballincollig Cork

The main advantage of been  a Tipperary based wedding videographer is  location, I am only one hour from  amazing wedding locations in Cork, Limerick, Waterford and Carlow. Its lovely to sit into my car after a long wedding shoot knowing that I will be home within the hour.
March 31st 2016 was a beautiful sunny day  spring was in the air, I was on my way to Ballincollig to film the wedding of Catherine and Paul, the following video clip are the highlights from their wedding video.

The locals who live in Ballincollig will refer to it as ” The Village” even though it would be classed as a town  this is a way of saying that they have retained their identity, folks in Ballincollig are very proud of their roots.  It is not known as tourist town but it has allot to offer for instance the Regional Park is one of the largest Industrial Sites in Ireland.
When I arrived at Catherine’s parents house, the bridal preps were in full swing the girls were in a pretty relaxed mood, the bride was just about ready to get in to her dress, the big moment had finally arrived all the wedding planning was now history this is the day when the next history chapter commences.

The wedding Ceremony took place in St. Mary’s and St. Johns Church Ballincollig just a 10 minute drive for Catherine and her proud dad, that journey to the church is a very special and memorable time between a father and daughter, last journey with her dad as a single lady.
The Church of St Mary and St John is situated on Station road it  is the older of the two churchs in Ballincollig, it is a lovely setting for a wedding with lots of natural light coming through the large windows and loads of space for invisible wedding video recording.

Catherine and Paul enjoyed their big day, they are a lovely couple and were so easy to work with on the day, Paul is from Waterford and proud of his roots and a keen follower of all things GAA, he was hoping for an  all Ireland victory for the Deise sadly he will have to wail and see what next  next has to offer.

Beautiful Scenic Wedding Video Locations In Cork

Here at Drangan Video, we have had a very busy summer and whilst the weather has been somewhat disappointing at times it certainly didn’t dampen the spirits of our excited brides and grooms.

This summer has seen us spend time travelling the length and breadth of the country providing videography services for weddings in Cork, Waterford, Kilkenny, Dublin, Galway and Kerry to name but a few. So it’s hard to believe that we’re now facing into the latter half of the year and making plans for Christmas and New Year weddings already, where has the year gone!

Late last year we met with a number of couples who wed this summer in Cork, and asked our advice on the best places for wedding videos and photographs in the Cork region. We were extremely happy to oblige as we are very familiar with Cork County and City and have filmed many events and weddings there over the years. So for those of you who are planning a wedding in Cork and need some ideas for great locations to shoot a special wedding video, we hope you find this useful.

Happy Cork Couple: Jason And Tracey’s Wedding Video Highlights

The Cork village of Shangarry  is situated on the south coast of Ireland and is best known as home of the world famious Ballymaloe  Cookery School,  happy local  couple Tracey & Jason certainly had something cooking for family and friends at the near by Middleton Park Hotel to celebrate their wedding reception

As a busy wedding videographer I have the pleasure of recording weddings in many parts of Ireland  especially throughout Munster, at the moment weddings in Cork are at an all time high, my wedding video bookings are very steady in and around Cork City and County.

Tracey and Jason’s Wedding Video Highlights :

As I made my way to Tracey’s house for the bridal preps cloulds were gathering and a spattering of rain was imminent, but after all it is still only February  the summer is just around the corner.  On arrival at the house I received a great warm cork welcome with tea and a bite to eat on offer. Tracey and her bridesmaids were having fun and really enjoying the preparations,  this is one happy bride who was intent on enjoying her big day hail, rain or shine.

After a lovely wedding ceremony in Shanagarry Church  we made our way to Middleton Park Hotel by which time the rain cloulds had vanised and the sun was shining, Tracey had booked me for the Gold Package which covers from bridal preps up and including the first dance. The Middleton Park Hotel is a popular Cork wedding venue, the staff are more than helpful, and very efficient.

Tracey and Jason are very happy with their wedding DVD, the highlights have already been shared on my Drangan Video Facebook page and has received some nice comments.  In the next few chapters we take a look at the importance of a well shot Wedding Video.

The importance of a well shot wedding video

Traditionally, wedding photographs have always been a must have for the budding bride and groom, however, here at Drangan Video we have seen a huge surge over the last decade in wedding videography. Of course, we would never suggest that photographs should make way for video, we believe there is a special place for both services at everyones wedding. What we love about a well-shot wedding video is that is remains a keepsake for all time and for generations into the future. A professional wedding video will see you through the good times and the hard times and can be viewed at times when you truly need a lift and a smile.

On a romantic and perhaps sentimental note, video can capture so much more than still photography. One of the shots best captured on video for all time and becoming increasingly more popular is ‘the first look’. This is a shot taken from the bride’s point of view when she is walking down the aisle, the video captures the moments when the organ starts to play and the bride and her companion take their first steps down the aisle. The climax of this shot is when the groom turns around and sees his beautiful bride for the very first time – a moment that can now be treasured forever thanks to high quality, professional videography.

As already stated, video will capture an amazing event, full of emotion and happiness, with family and friends. Such a event with everyone gathered may not happen again in your lifetime. Some may be missed as it is watched in later years, and the video can be an endearing memory and record of your shared time. With a great wedding video you will always remember each of your guests! What what other medium allows you to put a soundtrack of your choosing to such an emotive and energetic montage.

Feel free to give us a call here at Drangan Video or get in touch with us via our very sociable Facebook page. We are always on have to provide expert advice on why a well-shot wedding video is most important to your big day.

Lastly and most importantly I would like to add a little something. After the wedding day has passed and you venture into your life together, years after the kids are already starting secondary school, college or kindergarten, when money worries, stress and exhaustion get you down, pull out your wedding video and the reminder of that day will hold you in good feeling. You will for sure shed tears of joy and sadness, you will feel you have come a long way since that day, you will think back and wonder where the time go to? You will remember each other with reckless abandon as a song you haven’t danced to in years will play on the morning radio, your hearts will beat faster and your feet will find the dance-floor…… you really cant get the same feeling from a photograph!

Colourful Magical December Wedding in Kinsale

This is one of my Pre-Christmas weddings, Rebecca and Ciaran were married in Kinsale, Cork  on December 19th 2014, the following video clip captures some of the magic of their Wedding Day.

My work began with the bridal preps which took place in Rebecca’s Parent’s house, just on the outskirts of the town of Kinsale, the wedding ceremony was set for 12:30 Pm, so it was an early start from here in Fethard Co. Tipperary I was on the road by 9:30 am it was a crisp sunny day hard to believe that Christmas Day was less than a week away.  Rebecca was a very well organized Bride  and was keeping a close eye on the time to avoid been late, she arrived at the Church of St. John the Baptist Kinsale exactly on time ” tumbs up for Rebecca”

Kinsale a Beautiful  Wedding Destination In Cork :

Kinsale is one of the most romantic towns in Ireland  it is the perfect wedding destination.  Kinsale has got everything that you could possibly need for celebrating a wedding to remember in Co. Kinsale town is situated between the hills and the shoreline, as you make your way along the narrow streets never far from the water it is like something from another age. After the ceremony the bridal party went on a walk about through the narrow streets and laneways, as we made our way to the reception venue I captured some delightful wedding film on the colourful busy streets.

The reception was at Actons Hotel which overlooks Kinsale Harbour, it is one of the oldest hotels in Kinsale. It underwent a substantional upgrade in 2012 and re-opened in March 2013, this was my first visit to Actons I was impressed with the high level of guest care and attention to detail, I also enjoyed a lovely snack in the bar when the guests sat down to their meal at 6:30pm.

Rebecca and Ciaran were the perfect couple to work with they were so happy on the day lots of smiles and some romance thrown in for good measure.  As a wedding videographer Im looking forward to many more such weddings in Kinsale and all over Cork better known as the home of the rebels.

Sunny Winter Wedding Video Cork

This is a wedding highlights clip that I have been meaning to share but because of work commetments it was put on the (” long finger “) an old Tipperary saying by the way. On

Wedding Video Cork
Wedding Video Cork

December 28th 2013 I traveled to Doneraile  in the heart of Cork to film the wedding of Tom Lane & Michaela Duffy it was a sunny bright day and a little on the chilly side. The following highlights clip from their wedding DVD features footage of Tom and the boys getting ready in the morning and footage of the bridal preps, the Drangan Video Diamond Package covers both  bride and groom preps depending on the proximity  to each other.

It was Tom in fact who contacted me in relation to recording his big day, he had checked out the Drangan Video Website and my Drangan Video Facebook Page, Tom & Michaela were more than happy to share their wedding video highlights facebook.

The wedding video story begins at Park South Guest House which is owned and run by Tom’s mum and the Lane family, the business consists of a high class B&B which is surrendered  by a number of modern  high class self catering cottages situated in Mallow Co. Cork.  The opening footage shows Tom & the boys enjoying a mouth watering full Irish breakfast so the boys were well fed and ready to go to Doneraile Church and wait for the arrival of the beautiful bride.  Michaela and the girls were getting ready in one of the self catering homes which was only a short distance from Park South B&B, I was moving between both houses which is something that I like, it helps to make a wedding video more interesting and entertaining.

The countryside around Doneraile is very scenic and has a wealth of historical associations.Doneraile (Irish: Dún ar Aill), historically Dunerayl, is a town in County Cork, Ireland. It is located on the R581 regional road 8 km east of the N20 road which runs from Limerick to Cork. It is about 12 km north of Mallow town. It is situated on the River Awbeg, a branch of the Blackwater.  As a wedding Videographer I am no stranger to shooting wedding videos in Cork and I have recorded many weddings in Doneraile Church over the years, its a fine old church with lots of room for discreet wedding video recording.

After the wedding ceremony we stopped off at Doneraile Park for the photo call and some interesting video footage, by this time the winter sun was setting low in the sky and shining through a winter fog, the wedding party were beginning to feel the cold but it was well worth the effort, the video footage was brilliant, I love exsperimenting with light during the camera shoot and in studio at the post production stage.

For anyone who is getting married in the Mallow area it is well worth considering  Doneraile Park  for the photos and video footage.  The Park comprises approximately 166 hectares and is an outstanding example of an 18th century landscaped park in the ‘Capability Brown’ style.Mature groves of deciduous trees, several restored water features and a number of deer herds can be viewed along the many pathways within the Park.  The pathways are generally accessible for people with special needs. Doneraile Court, the former residence of the St. Leger family, is situated within the Park. It is be opened to the public following completion of necessary restoration and safety works.

The Charleville Park Hotel  is a top class Cork Wedding Reception Venue I always like working there the staff are friendly helpful and efficient.  On arrival at the hotel a very entertaining trad band were in full swing in the reception area and Tom & Michaela were happy to join in with guests for some informal dancing and fun, the children also had a ball.

I would like to thank Tom & Michaela for choosing Drangan Video to record their special day, they were a lovely couple to work with and they really enjoyed every moment of their big day, it was a fun wedding  and a pleasure for me to have been part of it.

Thanks for reading my latest blog post.

Best Regards
