This year has been all about weddings in Tipperary and Kilkenny and the bookings are coming in steadily for 2018 and even 2019. It looks like these two counties are the locations of choice at the moment for brides and grooms up and down the country, even those who live further afield!
With this in mind I would like to touch on some ideal locations in both counties for your wedding video and photos. If I have missed anything you would like to see on the list, please do get in touch, I would love to hear from you and check out those locations myself for future weddings.
Let’s start with Kilkenny!
Scenic Locations in Kilkenny for Wedding Videos or Photographs
The Village of Inistioge
Inistiogeis situated in the Nore Valley in southern Kilkenny and has long been a haven for those who wish to experience all that the ancient east has to offer. The village itself is the perfect backdrop for a romantic wedding video or photo shoot or you can opt to try some of the other local offerings in the area:
• Kilfane Glen and Waterfall
• Jerpoint Abbey
• Woodstock Gardens and Arboretum
Duiske Abbey is situated in the picturesque town of Graiguenamanagh in Co. Kilkenny and is well worth the trip for its Gothic and Romanesque architecture. This stunning building and its surround are the perfect backdrop for some eye-catching video footage or a romantic wedding photo-shoot. For those of you who are opting for a religious ceremony, there could be no better venue to say your vows.
More wonderful scenic locations in Kilkenny:
• Kells Priory
• Kilkenny Castle
• The Black Abbey
Now let us move on to Tipperary!
Scenic Locations in Tipperary for your Wedding Photographs and Wedding Video Shoot.
One of my all time favourite wedding video locations. This wonderful backdrop of Cahir Castle is without doubt one of the most impressive sights Ireland has to offer and if you are lucky enough to be getting married in the vicinity; your wedding video and photographs will be simply breath taking!
The Rock of Cashel
The Rock of Cashel is recognised throughout the country as a truly magical location and it cannot be overstated how impressive the imagery at this spot is. If you have never visited, please do so as soon as you can. For those of you who will be in the area for your wedding photos or vide shoot, you are very lucky indeed.
The eastern shores of Lough Derg are easily accessible from the Tipperary side and offer a host of idyllic locations for your wedding video or photographs. Advance planning will be required to ensure your videographer or photographer knows exactly where the best spots are and can deliver the imagery you have been dreaming of.
Further options in Tipperary:
• Kilsheelan Village
• The Clare Glens
• The Swiss Cottage
I hope you have enjoyed this blog post and reading about my own personal favourite locations to shoot wedding videos in Tipperary and Kilkenny. There are of course so many more, which I will get around to mentioning in later blog posts. In the meantime, I would love to hear from you if you are looking for a wedding videographer in the Tipperary or Kilkenny region.
