Each and every year for over a decade, the team here at Drangan Video have been lucky enough to travel to Carlow to provide videography services for some of the nicest couples we have ever met. Carlow town and county has a wealth of beautiful scenery and attractive locations that are simply perfect for photo-shoots and wedding videos. In this short article we are going to cover some of our favourite spots and would love to hear from any Carlow residents on their own personal favourites that we not be familiar with.
If you are planning a wedding in Carlow and are on the lookout for a professional wedding video with flair, please give Eamon a call here at Drangan Video. We can provide you with a package to suit your every need and look forward to sharing in your big day with you.
1. Altamont Gardens
No matter what time of year you visit Altamont Gardens, there is always an amazing array of flora to feast your eyes on. This idyllic location is the perfect spot for some outdoor video shots and we’re sure your photographer will love the place just as much as we do.
2. Brownshill Dolmen
Fancy a short stop for a photograph with a difference or some beautifully lit wedding videography? Try the Brownshill Dolmen for a backdrop with a difference.
3. Huntington Castle
Situated just outside Clonegal, Huntington Castle is the perfect backdrop for those of you who want some real royal treatment on your big day. The castle and gardens are an impressive sight and will add something incredibly special to the ambience of your photographs and videos.
4. Duckett’s Grove
With recently renovated gardens and some spectacular landscaping, the castle at Duckett’s Grove is synonymous with Carlow’s love of history. An 18th century castle in all it’s glory with some of the most spectacular scenery in this part of the country, you would be mad not to head here for some wedding photo’s should you get the opportunity.
5. Oak Park Forest
If you fancy something a little bit off the beaten track, then we can wholly recommend a stroll through the Oak Park Forest. A most rustic background for your wedding videos and photographs. Probably best to take a trip there before the big day and scout out your favourite spots.
You will notice that most of the places we have listed above in Carlow are outdoor locations and that in part is why we love them so much. It has to be noted though that you should research some indoor alternatives in the event of bad weather.
Carlow has so many more locations we love to film in:
• Delta Sensory Gardens
• Carlow County Museum
• Milford Mills
• Carlow Castle
• Clonmore Castle
